El Tropico Restaurant — Restaurant in Charlotte

The food saves this place! I ordered 3 pupusas (all different types) and all three were delicious! It tasted real traditional and I enjoyed the toppings very much. What I did not enjoy was not being greeted; in fact, I walked in, looked over, and there was three gentlemen at the bar and one server. She literally mugged me and when I said “hi” straight up ignored me. I wanted to stay and have a drink but felt uncomfortable so got my order to go. A few minutes later they finally put on some music to break the awkward silence. A few reviews said that the music is too loud, I disagree; I’m just happy they finally put some music on. Once my food was ready, she brought it out and seemed to have a better attitude but by then I was ready to go. Once I got home, I was happy because the order was correct, hot, fresh, and delicious! I would come back but definitely to place a TO GO.

Update: I came back, was greeted, had a strawberry margarita, and everything overall was much nicer. Decided to stay at the bar for a little while because the bartender was really kind. The drink she made...

This establishment consistently plays their music at an extremely loud volume, far beyond what’s appropriate for a mixed-use or residential area. Despite being located in an area that has grown significantly in residential population, they show little to no regard for the community around them.

They frequently violate the Charlotte Noise Ordinance, which restricts amplified sound between 11:00 PM and 7:00 AM in residential zones. However, the music often continues well past this timeframe, disturbing nearby residents trying to rest or simply enjoy peace in their own homes.

We urge management to respect the community and comply with city noise standards...

We decided to come here while getting our car fixed next door. The first thing I noticed was NO ONE understood English. We first walked and waited to be seated we stood for a good 5 minutes until we walked up to who seem to be a manager he then went to the back to get the dishwasher to who understood alittle but of English she sat us down and show us our waitress .ordering was very hard as well my husband wanted something like a chicken fajita with rice the picture below is what he got.
