South 21 Drive In — Restaurant in Charlotte

Greasy food, bland, dry food, french fries that were frozen, tasted like I don't know what. Big burger was so dry and bland, no juice and no flavor. The place was very dirty, including the parking lot and the building. There was trash laying in the parking lot. Looked very un-kept and in need of attention. There were two trays on the menu/speaker when we pulled in, at least 5 of the servers passed us, looked over at us at the trays and did not pick them up. Cole slaw was awful, way too much vinegar. It smelled very strong of it when we opened the container. The speaker system was in poor condition, we could barely hear the person that was taking our order. Onion rings were very hard and greasy. The only thing that was worth having was the coke, and it did not taste all that good.

We will never, ever go there again. We will never recommend this to anyone. Not really the fault of the establishment, but we had to drive all the way downtown to get turned around on Independence blvd due to the barrier in the middle of the road. Very poor and disappointing.

I would not give it one star, but the site is forcing me to select at least one...

Okay where do i start..lets do the positive first (momma said be nice)food wasn't bad but wasn't ass good as portrayed to be. Okay now lets talk about the service woman taking my order over intercom talked over me soo much i barely had the time to get my order out before she said " Is that it". The servers was black men dressed in uniform, did i mention the pale complex people who worked the inside didn't have uniforms, okay lets talk more, how about these black servers looked right over us (black folk) never asked if we needed anything hows our dinner nothing.(It was like they were in-slaved) They proceeded to entertain the pale complex people and never not once interacted with us, other than the young black boy that brought us our food and never returned for our change(i guess he thought us black folk couldn't afford a tip), needless to say service was extremely poor i felt like we was back in 50's when racism was at an all time high, was soo excited to go there all over this diner drive ins and dines, lets just say that will be the first last time, idc if it was the last...

I definitely do not recommend. Ordered 4 hotdogs with chili & slaw, 2 with onion. Only one came with onion. They did not distinguish the one with the onion. All came with pickles. Did not order pickles on them. When I mentioned it to the server he looked at me like I had 3 heads and said "what do you want me to do"? Then proceeded to tell me if I didn't tell them I didn't want pickles they were going to put them on. Well I told them what I wanted and they still didn't do it right. I didn't tell them I didn't want mustard. They didn't put that on them. So he was wrong!! Not only that he had an attitude. I don't know what kind of day he had but I didn't appreciate his little snippy attitude. Now further about the hotdogs. They were not all beef. The chili was barely there and dry. Slaw was too vinegary. And buns tasted old. I don't know what those onion rings were, tasted like they came from a freezer bag and cooked in old oil. We paid way too much money for that food that tasted like it came from a middle school cafeteria. I would not stop by nor...
