Let me drop some insights about this gem of a pizza joint I stumbled upon with the squad...This place has got it all - from top-notch service to pizzas the size of our collective appetites. (There are other places with big pizzas....but the SIZE of THIS pizza mixed with the FLAVOR actually makes this place a hit!)

First off, let's talk about the service - absolutely stellar! They didn't just take our orders; they practically read our minds and custom-made a pizza to satisfy the hunger of five hungry dudes. Plus the pizzas were cooked before our Ubers even arrived! (Get an UberXL by the way)

And speaking of pizzas, let's talk size - these bad boys are colossal! Perfect for sharing among friends and we even got some "bonus slices" that let us try our multiple flavors without the commitment to a full pie. But it's not just about quantity; the quality is on point too. The garlic knot dough? Chef's kiss - tender, tasty, and downright addictive. And don't get me started on the garlic sauce they slather on the crust and knots - pure magic in every bite.

Whether you're a traditionalist or an adventurous eater, they've got something for everyone. As a guy that loves to dip crust...sauce is HUGE. Their sauces are game-changers. The Pookie (sp?) sauce was a hit with the crew, but for me, it was all about that Parmesan sauce - absolute flavor bomb!

Edit 01/24/2024: Zambies also has garlic knots. And these too were delicious! A crisp bottom and a good chew to the dough, and garlic sauce drizzle that herbaceous and complements the marinara sauce that we had with it! Once again I ate my slices so fast that I failed to get any photos of it 😂

I'd like to preface by saying I'm a snob when it comes to pizza and rate them based on how it compares to a NYC slice. With that out of the way, I can honestly say that it is one of the best slices of pizza I've had in Charlotte since moving down 4 years ago!!

I've been walking past Zambies ever since they opened and my girlfriend and I were finally curious to see what it was about. The atmosphere reminds me of an old corner pizzeria joint from Brooklyn, with pizza on display, along with the tiered ovens that you would see in a pizza parlor. Not a ton of seats, but there's space for you to enjoy your slice in peace

When it comes to the taste of the pizza, all I can say is that it's phenomenal! As a pizza lover, I base it on how good your cheese slice is, and like I said earlier, phenomenal! You have gooey cheese that pull on each bite, a nice crispy crust that is still foldable, and a sweet and tangy pizza/marinara sauce that doesn't overpower the rest of the slice

My friends and I stopped in here last week as this spot was recommended to us by one of our friends. It's a bit of an unassuming location from the outside but we were digging it. We came during the afternoon so it wasn't too busy and we were able to hang out and enjoy some pizza. We all ordered a slice and also tried the garlic knots.

They have a good slice and that's coming from someone who just got back from New York where I was spoiled with some of the best pizza in the country. It's definitely a different style of pizza but it still has similar admirable qualities such as a good crunch to chew ratio. I'm also impressed that the pizza still holds its structure when picking it up since some larger slices I have had in the past were quite floppy. They also brush garlic butter on the outer crust which is an added bonus as you are finishing the slice.

The garlic knots were alright but a little doughy and could've used some more time to soak up that garlic butter flavor. So, solid slices and alright garlic knots but if you come with a group of people, you might as well try both to get the full experience.
