Dub's Place — Restaurant in Chattanooga

It was hot inside I went in to order 1 of their delicious banana milk shakes for my mother who had been having biopsy done all day at Erlanger trying to find out just how bad her cancer might be after a long tiring stressful day I wanted to take my last few cents to buy her a treat she a trooper she deserved that plus much more she 71years old & she has come against alot in her life time but anywho it was hot outside & just as hot inside with several in line & well I just decided to leave..thought I would make HER'S myself which I know by me making it 1 got her back home lots quicker 2 she knows that shake was special!!! 3 she know it was made with all my heart shaked up in iT!!! She licked her lips for days LoL & still asked me to make her another one just like that one!!! If you were lucky enough to have grown up in Small Town America, you had a special place to go for Burgers/Bar B Q and of course Ice cream treats! These places dotted the country back in the 50's, 60's & 70's. They were known at the time for taking that special date for a Milkshake or Ice Cream Sunday. Well, at least one of those special places still exist among all of the franchise fast food places. It happens go be nestled just off the Highway 27 bypass in Red Bank, Tn. Red Bank is a suburb of Chattanooga across the river to the West Side of town. Down Town Red Bank is the home of " Dub's Place". A Mom and Pop Hamburger, Hotdog, Bar B Q, and Ice Cream place straight out if the places I visited as a child and teenager. Every order is cooked after it us placed. No precooked sandwiches there. I drove past the sign and building then turned around to check it out! It was a place very much liked I worked in as a teen in the late 70's. I decided to order a Bar B Q sandwich and fries and a Dr.Pepper to wash it down . Every one working there was very friendly and service was great. I received my sandwich and fries on a pizza type pan with checkered paper covering the metal pan. The fries were home made, cooked crispy as fries should be. The first bite of the sandwich was when I realized the meat was cooked on site and the best I had experienced in the Chattanooga area. Being a Bar B Q lover, I have had many samples in the Nooga area. This was the most flavorful if them all! If you have bypassed Red Bank and Dub's, it is time you made a pit stop and sampled...

Went today 10/24/25 for a bite to eat. We are waiting a little bit for the food and a young gentleman brings it out. Now at this time my mind was everywhere while dealing with my sick father who is in the hospital down the street. Anyways I get the dub spuds with chicken, I go to stir it all together and when I go to get my bite I hit something hard with the fork and go to pull it out and it’s a big black screw. I understand things happen. I’ve worked in food industry before, but NEVER have I seen a big black screw in my food that could have killed me. I go to take it back and the behavior was very nonchalant like it wasn’t a big deal. The blonde girl with glasses ask me of if I just want them to remake it for me. I said no. If you find a screw in your food would you want it remade. NO I told her my dad was in the hospital and just to give me my money back. I spent $30 and some change and got back $13. I left and then called to see if the owner is there or if he was there when it happened cause I didn’t see him and she was very rude about saying that he wasn’t. I’ve been coming her since I was a little girl and the way I was treated and the way they behaved about it is ridiculous. A CHILD was sitting behind us and all I can think about is what if it was him and he ate it and it hurt him? With the way the staff acted, the wouldn’t care.
