Sluggo's — Restaurant in Chattanooga

Upon stepping into this sunny 50s diner inspired DIY vegan restaurant I was greeted by a tall kind man. He directed me to the menus and the specials board where I read the everlasting all vegan menu. I was quickly flustered as I felt that I had to try everything. Everything.

My pals and I decided to split a few dishes.

The Mac n cheese We added tempeh bacon and hot sauce because it’s the best combo ever. You should get on that, you’ll be so happy. It was smokey, hot, gooey, and wonderful. I’d recommend it.

The Mushroom Quesadilla with cashew cheese and creamy lime dressing This was absolutely fantastic. The creamy lime tied together the chewy bright goodness of the mushroom salsa combo. You need to try this.

The Chickpea Stew A smokey delight which was a nice break from the super gluten meal. It was soulful and hardy.

Zucchini Griddle Cakes These took the cake and the pie. Maybe even the best dish I had there, though it’s really hard to choose. Fantastic spicy vegan mayo, fa sho.

The Tofu Caesar Salad I am no salad lover, admittedly, but this one is definitely something I would get again if I were a local. Since I’m not, ill try something new every time I’m there. The dressing was thick and authentic, and the croutons were large and in charge. The tofu had a good bumpy seasoned texture. I was pleasantly surprised. I usually see salad as something you get when you’re at a restaurant by accident and you’re not hungry. This is far from a space filler. If you’re not trying to expand your stomach size try this.

Get the Berliner. It’s amazing. Amaaaaaaazing I say.

This is definitely a vegan friendly restaurant called " Sluggos North" located in North Shore. This is in the 💜 of tourism, with several townhomes, apts, and restaurants. The Nation's most visited park " Coolidge Park" 🏞️ is less than a few blocks away. The World's Longest Walking Bridge 🌉 is in the same area. The Aquarium, and other tourist attractions are less than a couple of miles away. Okay ! Now, you see why our Scenic City is one of the most popular tourists attractions in the 🌎. I'm hungry guys lets eat. If you love vegan food delicious 😋 welcome aboard. It's nothing fancy but clean. You guys are so down to earth. I love it 🤩. That's whuz up ! When we walked in my family were immediately greeted by Cool 😎 Friendly staff. There were even some Friendly Customers encouraging us to sit down, and eat ☺️. They were eating some delicious food 😋. We both ordered two of the Pesto Portabello Quesadilla delicious 😋. I love wings, so I had to have some Cheeky Seitan Wings. I have only been vegan a year. The wings were delicious 😋. My last two orders were my favorites. I ordered the side of Garlic Mashed Potatoes with Mushroom Gravy 😋. I had to have the Sweet Potatoe, and Spinach Enchiladas delicious 😋. I'm Good to go ! You guys will be Good to go as well ! You won't know, if you don't go. Check ✅ them out for yourself. They have an even more extensive menu. It will leave you satisfied full, but not overwhelming. We love Sluggo's and have been going for over 10 years, including to the previous location in Pensacola. The folks are friendly and the food is prepared with wholesome whole food ingredients and lots of love. My favorite is the Pecan dusted seitan platter. It is a very generous platter with house-made seitan, mashed potatoes and gravy, collard greens, cornbread muffin, and a side salad. I always go for the dill dressing. I mean, LOOK at that PLATE! 🤩🤩🤩 I really like the collard greens, I am from the deep south and I think they are cooked and seasoned well, albeit not cooked to death. The Spicy Cheeky wings are also a fantastic appetizer. Big hunks of house-made seitan in a perfect buffalo sauce with creamy dressing on the side, along with carrots and celery. My friends who aren't vegetarian dream about this place and always request that we stop here when we go through Chattanooga. They are big fans of the zucchini griddle cakes appetizer, lentil patty melt, and the Culture Club sandwich! Oh, and the Pasta Salad of the Day is not to be missed. My mama isn't anything close to vegetarian and we buy several servings at a time for her because she loves it so much. It's creamy, dreamy, and seasoned just right.
