Alice's Restaurant — Restaurant in Cheboygan

We had breakfast here twice and much different experiences. It was busy both days. The first meal was quick. The second day the food was super slow, close to an hour. They, like others, are short of labor and recently lost a cook. The place is very clean with wide plank flooring and walls adorned with some local and retro pictures and signage. The coffee is very good. The breakfast was very good. The meat portions generous. We both had the two egg breakfast with Canadian bacon and hash browns. I noticed the second day that they display a Brandon sign near the register, which to me crosses a line. Some people think it’s cute; I think someone who Fs the president of either party must lack integrity. This is republican country; fine but why spread vulgarity and hate. I had a terrible experience here. I'll never return. After I worked a 14 hour over night shift I wanted to get some breakfast before bed. Ordered my food and waited and waited, the people that came in after me got there food, and I waited, and then I fell asleep, right there on the table, they woke me up, I said I was sorry I was just really tired, and then I waited and waited, still no food! but they called the police on me. The officer asked me a million questions and wanted me to go to the ambulance, which I refused, still waiting for my French tst and bacon. About 10 minutes after the police left, and the people that came in after me, I wasnt really hungry any longer, so I paid for my cup of coffee, that was never refilled, and I left, fairly mortified. Alice’s Restaurant. Word of advice: If you want to come for breakfast, block off your whole morning because you will be waiting a while to get your food. I see from other reviews we aren’t the only customers who had to wait an hour to get our food. It’s ironic that there’s multiple staff members talking, laughing, and joking around behind the counter. With that being said, I’m not sure why it takes a century to get the food out to the customer. When we finally got our food, it wasn’t that good and wasn’t hot. A disappointment. We will not be back. Not sure if this place is family owned, but instead of messing around, eating your own restaurant food, and making comments about customers, you should focus on getting the food out to customers in a...
