I hardly ever leave reviews, but my recent visit to Herradura Vieja was so distressing that I feel compelled to share my experience. From the moment I walked in, the service was horrendous. Within the first five minutes, I was met with an unwelcoming atmosphere and staff who couldn't care less about customer satisfaction.
Upon entering, I was not greeted but instead was met with cold stares and had to awkwardly wait until someone finally decided to acknowledge my presence. It took several minutes for a server to reluctantly approach me without a hint of a smile or a welcoming gesture. When I inquired about a table, the waiter walked me over to one. My wife asked for a side of beans where she would pay for it. Yet the waitress refused with an attitude.
As if this wasn't bad enough, the manager's attitude was the cherry on top of a disastrous service sundae. When I politely voiced my concerns about the service, the manager was dismissive and outright rude. She seemed more interested in making excuses and shifting blame than in addressing the issues or providing a solution. Her demeanor was condescending, and she made me feel like my presence was an inconvenience, rather than an opportunity for them to provide a pleasant dining experience.
The entire ordeal lasted about five minutes, but it was enough to ensure that I would never set foot in Herradura Vieja again. It's a shame because I was looking forward to trying their cuisine, but with such a lack of basic customer service skills and professionalism, especially from the management, I left before I could even order.
To anyone considering Herradura Vieja, I would strongly advise looking elsewhere unless you're willing to be treated with indifference or outright disrespect. There are plenty of other establishments that understand the value of their customers and the basics of...
Read moreFood is good-I have eaten there a few times. Pointed to and Ordered $9 nachos with beans cheese and add jalapeños. I am a vegetarian so said no meat to clarify. She comes back and asks if I want these other toppings I said sure only if it comes with it. She said yes. They charged me $15 on the bill for their “supreme nachos” which apparently has the toppings and meat on it PLUS extra charged for the jalapeños. I never ordered their supreme but charged me for it-didn’t get meat so they couldn’t have substituted it with jalapeños? scammed me out another $8. I would have gladly payed extra for the jalapeños with my original order. Drinks are another story. My 16oz sunrise margarita was mostly ice with some juice/mixers and I could not taste any alcohol. I pointed it out to the waitress three times and she did nothing about it. Asked if I wanted another. I said no it’s not strong at all. I rarely drink, am a lightweight and hadn’t had anything to eat all day. I should have felt a buzz even. Nothing. I was not paying another $15 for a bunch of ice and juice. And she kept calling me “hey lady”😒. 6 months ago, I ordered a sangria-same thing. Mostly ice, way overpriced and a small glass for $12. Go to La Carreta in Nh-their drinks are bigger and better in value and actually taste and make you feel like you had an alcoholic drink. They don’t scam you either. I will no longer be supporting this business that rips you off. $40 for nachos, drink and one...
Read moreUpdate 01/15/20: Visit Herradura at least twice a month, still love the food, staff and atmosphere. Was a little stunned by the New Year's price hikes on today's visit, a jump across the board including cocktails that increased to Boston level prices ($16.50 for some of the mixed drinks) I realize that it's a popular spot, supply and demand etc., but I urge restraint on hikes like this. Neighboring Nobos did this a few years ago and I think it affected their business... Just a cautionary tale... I really love this place...
A local treasure! So happy that another family owned Mexican restaurant has opened in the area! Atmosphere, food and service is wonderful! Usually dine at the bar - 3rd time here, first review. Bartender Scarlett is wonderful, attentive, friendly and makes great drinks! The menu is extensive and the food speaks for itself. Delicious. While viewing the menu selections on my 2nd visit, and after asking the bartender (Scarlett) what Mexican mashed potatoes were, the owner/manager appeared with a plate of them to sample. Very appreciative of an effort like that. (And they were delicious too!) Will definitely be a...
