I'd give this place negative 2 stars if I could. I didn't realize there was a Taco Bell worse than the one on Michigan in Jackson till today.
Just tried to get breakfast this morning. According to TB's own app this place opens at 10AM. I first went into the drive thru and was told by a female voice that it'd be about 5 to 10 minutes before they opened. So I said okay and went back into the parking lot to wait. I saw a guy go up to the doors then walk away cussing a blue streak before leaving. I shrugged, thinking maybe he was just impatient, because being hungry does that to people.
So I gave it ten minutes then walked up to the door to find it still locked. There were two people inside, a guy and a woman, I could see from the door standing around by the front counter and talking. I stood there for at least 3 minutes or so, waiting to see if they'd notice me knocking. One of them, a woman, motioned for me to go into the drive thru so I did. Then the guy got on the headset and told me it'd be five to ten minutes. I explained I was just told that by his co-worker. He gave this BS excuse that it was just the two of them and they were still trying to get set up for the day. Seeing as I just witnessed the two of them standing around and talking, I felt this was a blatant lie.
Don't get me wrong, people. I am among the first in line to tell the world that fast food workers need to be treated like equals, and that they deserve livable wages, especially if they're working full time. But behavior like this is exactly what takes the wind out of those sails for those who are...
Read moreEdit: much better after the revamp! I have changed my star rating. Obviously 5 stars is grading on a fast food curve but it's functional now and the workers are very nice.
Old review: This place is comically bad. Like world class terrible. It regularly takes 10-15 minutes for a single car just to get their order taken, not counting the time waiting before or after. It's usually faster to go to the Taco Bell 20 minutes away instead of waiting in the line here (which is always wrapped around the building).
One time we made the mistake of ordering ahead, thinking that would help. It didn't. We waited over an hour for our food (not counting the posted 20 minute wait time), and then when we opened it we discovered that they had ADDED MEAT to items ordered off the VEGETARIAN MENU. it wasn't even a modification of a regular dish, it was specifically from the vegetarian menu. When we tried to call to get our money back, we got a message saying the number was disconnected. We called Taco Bell corporate and they gave us the customer service equivalent of the middle finger and said the manager would call us back in 3 days max. (Spoiler alert, we never got a phone call.)
I still go here sometimes bc I live nearby and I think they have 1 person who works there who's good bc if you catch them at the right time you can get food in about 20 minutes instead of 1 hour but oh man it is...
Read moreTaco bell chelsea Thursday 1:30-2:30. Ordered using kiosk. Lobby got full. still no order 30 minutes later. At one point the doors wouldn't open for people to come in or leave. 2 guys trying to get in. I tried to open the door from the inside. I turned to the counter where drive thru girl looked at me. I said the door won't open. She looked at me and turned away. Another guy pushed the door it suddenly opened. I thought I heard a worker say when they get behind the door locks. While I'm eating my food and watching. The door keeps not opening. People pull and push hard. Someone is going to get hurt. Worker told an elderly couple it's taking about 30 minutes to get food inside. A group of guys went out and one was in the bathroom. He tried real hard to open the door. My husband turned and said the door won't open and suddenly it opened. The guy almost fell down it opened so fast. What's going on at this place. I could see 5 workers. 2 at drive thru. 1 washing dishes. 2 at the food station. The people were being very patient and wondering what's going on. The door had people pretty upset.
