I have been bowling here for 10 years with 8 of those years on a league.
The good.
The staff is nice and the lane prices are slightly lower than average. Food and drinks are good quality and available for typical alley prices. They work with the local Cottage Inn to have their pizza delivered as well. I recommend the alley's burgers.
The owner, Eddie, gives lessons for a reasonable price for any level of bowler or can recommend a coach.
They have continued to make improvements. The beer on tap has gotten wonderfully more diverse.
Not as good.
The place is showing its age and is not going to shine like some other alleys I've been to. They are doing updates slowly and consistently. Lane conditions on non-league nights tend to be dryer but still usable.

While my bowling prowess seems to have mysteriously vanished since my youth (thanks, son, for going easy on me?), we had a blast. Four rounds of bowling and an hour of pool later, we emerged victorious (and slightly sore). This bowling alley offered great prices and wasn't at all expensive, which is always a win for dads. First off, yes I when you see it passing by on m52 it does not look like much but that right there is a great thing and let me tell you why. When a bowling alley is completely flashy and makes itself obvious that its a bowling alley spot then yes bowlers will flock to it. Thankfully for us chelsea folks we get the nice undercover knowledge of what the place really is. which in turn means more open lanes for us!
