Wow, what a terrible experience! We recently moved to the area, and saw some decent reviews for this diner. We arrived and were seated by a pleasant host, but we were seated at a table that was placed DIRECTLY in front of the fire exit (hi, that's illegal). Our server was the most disinterested server in history. She dropped our silverware and a pile of napkins in the center of the table. We both ordered a "Michael's Special" salad, which came with soup. Neither of us wanted soup, so we asked if we could substitute fries. Nope. Okay, fine, but could I go ahead and get an order of fries? This was such an effort. They carry Pepsi products, so I asked about the iced coffee instead. She said they just pour the brewed coffee over ice. Fine, so I order it with cream only. I got a cup of icy brown water and 4 creamers. We get the order of fries, again, plopped on to the middle of the table. It was 17 minutes AFTER we finished our fries that our salads came. Again, PLOP middle of the table. I had to request salad dressing, as there was none served. I asked for a beverage, but never saw one. The grilled chicken in both salads was rubber. The salads were disgusting, but our server never came back to ask. We decided to just pay the bill and leave...that was the next hurdle. Trying to find our apathetic server was harder than choking down the dry chicken! We finally7 managed to throw good money at bad food - no one, not even the register person - once asked how...
Read moreSadly I have to rate this place with 1 star or less if I could due to the rude encounter I had with Belinda the hostess and Trish the Manager. I have been coming to this restaurant for many many years and never encountered the type of targeted rudeness that I encountered this date. I entered the restaurant to get a table for me and my friend, who is a movie director, was 2 minutes away. We chise to speak here about an up and coming project. He was minutes away. With that said, I was told I couldn't be seated because my party wasn't there. I explained he was seconds to minutes away. Several people, at least 4 parties were seated ahead of me. The final straw was when a guy walked well after me and they again sat him in front of me. He was alone and given a booth. I asked why I couldn't have had the booth assuring them that my party was enroute. I was ignored by Belinda so I asked for their names and left citing to never come back. The moral of the story here is, that people never think outside the box. Folks can just be so rude to nice people like me who have spent countless dollars there. But no more thanks to Belinda and Trish the Manager. Oh, and if I failed to mention, they both sarcastically wished me a happy new years on the way out. Maybe they just didn't like the way I looked, but that's a whole other story that can be revisited....
Read moreI recently dined at Michael's Family Diner, located at 501 Easton Rd, Glenside, PA 19038, and I must say, the experience was delightful, largely thanks to our server, Donna. From the moment we stepped in, Donna greeted us with a warm and inviting smile that set the tone for the evening.
Her attentiveness was impeccable. She was always there when we needed her, yet she never intruded on our dining experience. Donna displayed a deep knowledge of the menu, skillfully guiding us through the selection and making recommendations that were spot on.
What truly set Donna apart was her genuine warmth and friendliness. She interacted with us not just as a server, but as someone who truly cared about our dining experience. Her attention to detail, from ensuring our drinks were always filled to checking in on us at just the right times, was remarkable.
The food at Michael's Family Diner was delicious, but it was Donna’s exceptional service that made our meal memorable. She is a true asset to the diner, bringing not only professionalism but also a personal touch that makes you feel like family.
I would highly recommend Michael's Family Diner to anyone looking for a great meal complemented by outstanding service. And when you go, be sure to ask for Donna – you won’t be...
