This review is after the first time we ordered from here. This is an honest review based on my family's experience of the food:
The centerpiece - the cheese pizza - was the worst of the items. All the food was edible, but for a pizza restaurant, the pizza is subpar. The cheese has a confusing taste, as did the crust, although the crust was cooked very well.
It's a cross between deep dish and thin crust.
We ordered the Ribeye cheese steak - Philly style as served with no additions, and it was the best tasting item we received.
We ordered Buffalo chicken cheesesteak x 2, both with grilled onions added. This sandwich was very drippy and difficult to eat. All the innards were falling out of the bread as you picked it up. The taste was liked by half the family while the other half was not impressed.
The fries that came with the ribeye were very tasty but typical frozen fries.
Ratings: (Dave Portnoy style)
Cheese Pizza - 6.3 Ribeye cheesesteak - 8.3 Buffalo chicken cheesesteak - 7.4 Fries - 7.2
Service - The restaurant gave a 30-minute window for order to be prepared. When I arrived for pickup, the pizza was sitting in a box, but the sandwiches were not even started.
The staff seemed surprised that I was there to pick up the order. They realized that my order had some sandwiches, so the cook quickly placed the meat on the grill and finished the sandwiches. The wait was an additional 10 minutes beyond the 30 they requested.
The price for the food was $61
They don't accept credit cards, and they close at 8 pm on a Saturday night, and for all these out of the ordinary business decisions, the food is overall very, very basic.
It was our first and last time ordering here, and I wish them the best and continued...
Read moreAs a caregiver, I worked with a client of mine a couple of days after they moved in with family. It just so happened that they lived just 4 mins away from The Pizza Box. My client decided to order from here, requesting 2 cheesesteaks & a bag of fries alongside some cheese whiz. As it was only 4 mins away, I decided to walk over to save myself some gas. Once I got there, the process of getting the food felt old-fashioned as they ONLY ACCEPT CASH! Luckily, of course, they had an ATM in the back to make my transaction. However, you have pay a $1.75 service fee and can only take out sums of $20, so I’d advise anyone to have the right amount of cash on them when they come to PICK UP their food [since they don’t do delivery]. After walking back with nearly $30 of food, I prepared myself to indulge in what claims to be a “local favorite” with it’s 4.7-star rating. Once I did eat my food, it met my expectations. The toppings were a bit lopsided with a good amount of few things but not enough of another; regardless, it satisfied my appetite along with the fries. Overall, even if my client though of it as being “ok”, it was a worthwhile meal. Wouldn’t mind going for another walk to get food that’ll fill you up after some exercise. 🚶♂️+...

I'm from out of town and came to Glenside for a yearly meeting at a nearby office. Last year my friend had ordered a buffalo chicken Pizza from this location and I REALLY enjoyed it! I was looking forward to visiting the location this year.
I came in with a large group of people an hour before closing time on April 25. The staff was kind, we got our food in a timely manner, and they even gave the whole group a treat of delicious donuts for constantly coming in throughout the day! Now that's some good service and AMAZING pizza!
The location itself is really cute. I like the lights and the patio. The dining area was clean and the presentation of their available slices at the counter was very appetizing.
Even their digital presentation is mouth-watering! I was looking forward to this visit throughout the year and I was not disappointed. Thank you very much, Pizzabox! I can't wait to stop...
