The location is Gallos Bakery on Kings Hwy in Cherry Hill Nj First of all I wanna mention that I used to go to this bakery many years ago. I recently ordered a photo cake that was ordered a week ago or so for my wife's 50th birthday. The young lady who attended me for my service was pleasant. I told her what I needed, she gave me the proper info and I did what was asked and at the end of me placing my order, an older woman came out from behind a large see through window and yelled at young lady to do something while the young lady was talking to me finishing my transaction, very rudely of the older woman. She obnoxiously said no "we don't do that" when I requested a drawing on the cake with icing, then she instructed the young girl to call someone else to ask if they could do that service, but she was very very rude!! The next time I returned to pick up, I asked the young lady if she could put happy 50th birthday on it. She said "sure and where" I showed her where....The older lady yelled out "Next time you need to settle that out when ordering" but extremely rude. The young lady showed me the cake and it was put very nicely I told her. Then I asked her to put a name on the cake. The old lady yelled at young lady and slammed her hand on the counter and said very loudly "What does he want now? Next time you can't do that!!" So I asked her nicely well how can I get happy birthday on it if it's for a birthday. The old lady said nothing and went to the back. The young lady was extremely profesional...I do have a choice of words for the old lady that I would like to mention but I won't. I will never go there again. It's shame a young person has to work there under that type of stressful environment! Lost a customer and from now on going to Sweet Eats in Voorhees where workers and customers are treated...
Read moreI have never received more appalling customer service then what just happened to me at the Cherry Hill Gallo’s location. I placed an order last week for a cheesecake, topped with glazed strawberries, which is the birthday cake of choice that my eight-year-old son has picked out for the past two years. Although last year’s we’ve ordered and picked up without incident, this year, the bakery did not have any record of my order. The older woman working behind the counter, proceeded to mock my decision to place the order for the day before when I would need it (which is tomorrow on Easter), telling me that it was stupid to arrange to pick it up a day early. She also made fun of the fact that I am a single mom who shares custody with an ex-spouse, when I mentioned (while feeling quite flustered and embarrassed in front of other customers) that I wouldn’t be able to come back tomorrow at noon since that is when I will receive my children back for our holiday time together. She continued to yell at and mock me in front of other customers, and even as I asked her to please stop berating me in this manner, and pointed out that the fact that my order was not fulfilled was not my fault, but rather the person who took the order when I phoned it in. It’s a shame that I was treated in this way, because I am a lifelong resident of the area, and I had always previously loved the cakes and products from Gallo’s Bakery. However, after the appalling treatment that I received today, I don’t think I will ever be able to order from them again. I very much would like an apology from one of the owners, because I’m sure they do not agree with the way this woman treated me as a customer. I was nearly brought to tears while simply trying to pick up the order that I was expecting for my...

My family has been coming to Gallo’s Bakery for years, but it’s clear they’re no longer the same as they were a decade ago. I recently picked up a cake I ordered days in advance, and it was completely wrong. I specifically asked for an all-white cake with black writing—simple enough. Instead, I received a cake with green decorations and dark green writing.
When I called to explain the issue, I was told I had ordered a “standard cake with flowers,” which is false. I requested no green flowers, no leaves—just an all-white cake with black lettering. I even emailed a photo as requested, and someone called me back saying the writing was green because “that’s how the dye mixes.” I’ve ordered enough cakes in my life to know black dye exists.
To make matters worse, I was told I could just return the cake if I didn’t like it. How is that helpful when the party starts in an hour? The lack of accountability and unwillingness to make things right is disappointing. They didn’t offer a solution or seem to care.
I wish I could give less than one star. We won’t...
