California Tortilla is located just off of Volvo Parkway in the Greebrier Market Center. It is located where Qdoba was before this place opened. With this place being in a shopping mall, there is ample parking available. I have visited this place several times now. My most recent visit here was on March 29, 2021.
The setup is very similar to what you would expect at a Moe's or Chipotle for example. You can choose to have a bowl, a burrito, etc. You also get to choose what you want to put in your meal. On each of my visits here, it was a pleasant experience. They have lots of sauces to choose from to put on it. They even have a chipotle version of sour cream.
After finishing our creations, it was time to eat, which we did at one of the tables there since it does take a while to come to and from here from Virginia Beach. Every bowl that I have had thus far has been great. You can tell that all the food that they use for it is fresh. We both loved the food here. We have also gotten a side of their cheese dip, which was also really good too.
Overall, there have been some good experiences to have here. I will definitely continue to return to this place. Hopefully sometime soon they can add a location in Virginia Beach as well. If you are in the Greenbrier area of Chesapeake and looking for a Tex-Mex place like Moe's or Chipotle, skip those places and come here instead. You will definitely see...
Read moreWonderful spot. I arrived a little after 12pm and the lunch rush wasn't so bad that I had to wait in line. It picked up closer to 12:30pm and 1pm but the lines where short considering how close it was to all the surrounding shopping areas. Because it is near a lot of shopping, I did have to park a good distance from the restaurant. The food was very tasty with great customer service and tons of options. The biggest issue I hear from friends and family when it comes to eating out now days is the food is too salty, and that was not the case here. I ordered the pork carnitas quesadilla which came with salsa and sour cream. My guests had the classic quesadilla with ice tea and a big chicken salad which was very well portioned with tons of toppings. The mood and vibe reminded me of chipotle when I initially chose to eat here, but it was much tastier and tasted more authentic. Plus there was plenty of comfortable seating and booths. My biggest regret is that I didn't take a photo of my food or try one of their many flavored waters. The had a mango lime auga fresca and one called strawberry hibiscus which I will definitely be back to try...
Read moreWent today, wasn’t planned but luckily they were open. First thoughts 💭- there’s a lot of choices which was nice. The guy got caught up between the person he was serving and the random customer that walked up that he didn’t take a moment to come to the line and say hey I will be right with you. (I won’t hold it against him considering) but just a tip going forward.
got home and I was happy.. not blown away but happy. I’d come back and give it another try though !
Also a side note that needs to be addressed but has nothing to do with the rating. If masks are required workers need to make a comment to customers if they are not sitting at their table. There was a man who walked up to the register with no mask ... apparently something was wrong with his order. Him and another lady then were assisted but were never asked to put there masks back on while ordering in the line where there is food somewhat...
