La Hacienda Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Chesapeake

I went to La Hacienda 01 Aug 22 about 6:00 ish pm to order take out , I ordered in person not over the phone, I was asked do I need to see a menu , which I didn't because I was their two days prior for the first time and I dined in and had carnitas for the first time and they were really good, so I knew what I wanted to order without seeing the menu, so the young lady name Carmilla ask did I want the carnitas bowl and I reply no only the carnitas with the corn tortilla and cilantro and onions, it came to $15.11 and I gave a tip as well. I was told it would take 15-20 min , so I came back inside in 15 mins, and she handle me the bag, when I got home and open the bag I was very disappointed, it was a carnita bowl with rice, refried beans, lettuce and tomato and guacamole, and the pork , and flour tortilla. I called the restaurant and spoke to the young lady that took my order, she said it must was a misunderstanding, but I restated what I want before placing the order, I ask her how can I be compensated since I was inconvenience, she stated I could bring the food back and they would correct the order and I stated I would not drive back their , she replied the manger was their and it's nothing she could do, I ask her name and told her I won't be dining their anymore and she replied okay. This was not good customer service, she could of took my phone and had the manager call me the following day. So if you dine take out here , check your order...

Man Hampton Roads has nothing on Virginia Beach this here is the best Mexican restaurant I have ate had since coming back to virginia!

The food is outstanding the service was even better I would drive across the bridge to eat here again. They have the best street tacos I have ever had in Virginia thus far they actually Grill their corn tortillas so they're not dry and stiff and cracking like a few other places I have went. The salsa is divine they actually put cilantro in it they aren't too stingy with the salsa and chips I greatly appreciate that because that day I was borderline starving.

Is that too cold it's not too hot the temperature was perfect it was decorated for the holidays which was fun to see the people were very friendly our area was clean our table was wiped down, but if you need to use the bathroom you may want to wait till you get home or to another location because the bathroom was not clean there was no tissue in the Stalls and there was stuff on the floor luckily I carried my own wipes and I have a great squat game or else I would have held it the best I could or walked over to one of the local stores in the area and went to the bathroom.

Overall, great experience all around!

The food was very tasty and the portions seemed fair. I got the birria tacos with a side of rice and beans. The birria tacos were pretty good though I have admittedly had slightly better before. The birria itself could have used a little extra kick but it was definitely still pretty good! The rice and beans were also great and I appreciated the flavors making up for the slightly small portion size. Lastly, I unintentionally ordered the 22oz jalapeño and cucumber margherita! I was worried about not finishing it because it was a tad strong and the glass was huge but it actually ended up not being too difficult to finish. It was also had a great flavor combo and the Tajin on the rim just elevated the experience. The restaurant itself is also beautifully decorated and the staff was very friendly. I appreciated the fact that we did not have to wait too long to be seated or for our food to come out, despite the restaurant being pretty busy. I would have preferred to not have been seated right by the kitchen but it was not too bad.
