Texas Roadhouses are starting to fall off. The quality just continues to go down and down and down, but this last experience took the cake. I ordered a Fort Worth ribeye medium rare it came out well done. How do you mess that up? I should have took a picture cause you HAVE to have seen this thing. It wasn't just that it was well done, it also looked gray. Also there was no char anywhere. Usually there is in some way and it adds to the steak, and flavor, and texture but nothing. No crispy anything, anywhere, whatsoever. Not only that, but only the slightest hint of grill marks were even present if at all. It honestly looked like the thing maybe got started cooked on some low heat flat top (and we all know that high heat is the key) and finished off in a microwave, then stuck under a lamp to retain temp. for a 3-4 hrs. GOD I wish I would've taken a picture so you could've seen it. Then after I told the server she took it to go get me another one. An opportunity of redemption...failed. Once it came back and I'm almost done with my baked potato she sets it down and the SAME gray look is on this steak TOO! No char, no love, no TLC barely any seasoning and the server God bless her heart she's only trying to help but this is a catastrophe. I cut into to it...its rare! I can't have her send it back again I KNOW she feels terrible as what it is. I smile politely and say "Thank you" cause none of this is her fault and technically, it's closer to the mark than being well done but it doesn't change what's in front of me. I start eating...it tastes nothing like a steak. It feels and tastes like I'm eating a hamburger. Not because its beef, but because of texture and seasoning. The thing was hard, not tender, if held I can tell it'd barely flex or "give", flavor profile was all off, and once I get to the middle, I'm met with TWO bites of cold and hard meat, not quite frozen, but damn near. I give up. I NEVER not eat all my food. I just had to leave this. Bout a 4" diameter piece just left there. I had to get out of there. I left a 20% tip cause it's NOT my servers fault, in fact she tried to make things right at every turn but this is a just a failure at every turn. My God we were dealing with a STEAK establishment. If you're not making at least DECENT steaks than wth are we doing? With just TERRIBLY "prepared" food would you yourself venture back? I mean did the staff just not care? Were they just trying to get this order over with? Will I ever know? I'm not sure. Ugh. Texas Roadhouse, you HAVE to...
Read moreThis was my first experience at Texas Roadhouse, & unfortunately, we happened to go there on graduation night. Fortunately, we went for an early dinner as we had skipped lunch, and our wait time was only about 15 minutes, but even so, the place was packed. We were able to wait inside for our table, but when we left, the line was out the door. Initially our service was great. Our waitress was prompt, friendly, & helpful. Our drinks & appetizer were served quickly, & our entrees arrived shortly thereafter. Overall, our meal was wonderful. I gave it a 4-star rating for these reasons: ----after we paid our bill, we didn't see our waitress again. We had to wait 20-25 minutes just to get take home containers so we could leave. We did appreciate her bringing us fresh tea to take with us as well, but would have been happy just taking home what we already had. ----it was soo loud! It was already jam packed with people, but they also had multiple TVs going in the bar area, and music playing in the background. It was difficult to even carry on a "normal" conversation just across the table & with our server. On top of all that, there were at least two occasions when dishes were dropped & shattered on the floor. When we went to leave, there was water & ice all over the floor where anyone could have easily slipped & fallen. ----there were just two of us, but it would have been nice to at least have been given the option of sitting at a larger table. The two-seater tables are fine for a small meal or just a single individual. But by the time you put the peanut bucket, basket of rolls/butter, two drinks, at least one appetizer, plus salads, plus the entrees, it's an accident waiting to happen; there's just no room on the table for all of that. Yes, we enjoyed our meals, but not all the noise, chaos, & the other issues as described. If I ever go again, I'll go for lunch or a REALLY early dinner, & hopefully avoid the other issues. I also like to take my time & enjoy a meal out as I don't have the opportunity very often. I don't like feeling as though we have to scarf it down so someone else can have our table. And yes, I've worked as both a waitress & cashier at a very busy restaurant in the past, dealing with post-game craziness & drunkenness, so I do understand how such places "work." But it shouldn't always be about raking in the money & business. It should also be about respecting the patrons dining...
Read moreAlways enjoy TR but today wasn’t our day! Seated w in 15 min w rolls-no butter (had req regular). Tea was brought to table promptly but no straws, no small plates for rolls, no napkins, no silverware. We req from waitress-received ea (individually) over 10-15 mins. Rolls were cold so brought more. Placed order-Bloomin Onion, ribs and kabob-med rare. Salads brought to table first-NO appetizer yet (onion)?? We asked waitress to check-never arrived. Finally she came back-said “onion wasn’t ready bc only one fry cook but food was ready to bring out. Did we still want onion”? “Yes but w no charge”. Worst onion ever! Overcooked and unable to even separate to eat. Wasted! Our meals arrived. As you can see in pic, my med rare kabob was burnt (pic does not do it justice). At least half I could not stick a fork in. Baked potato was soft only in center. Never did get sour cream. We asked for manager who first said “they just left the kabob on too long” as if eat it anyway. No. “Then do you want us to re-do?” “No bc husband almost finished eating his ribs by now.” Manager again acted as if I should eat it-clearly no way. He said he’d adjust ticket. When ticket arrived, the kabob was “half price”. We req to see manager again and he said “you told me you were going to eat it”. NO I DID NOT! Said he “must’ve misunderstood”. Again told him I ate 4 bites-I didn’t come to eat burnt steak! Said he’d “talk w cook bc not first complaint he’d gotten re kabobs”. We were never ugly-tho told him this was worst visit ever. The kabob was credited on next ticket. I had asked for tea refill while all this was going on. Waitress slammed it on table and kept walking. Husband went to restroom-floor was slick w grease around BR/dirty dish area. We had mentioned when we went in that floors were nasty-spilt butter in floor at roll area, walkways to table scattered w food and litter. Sorry to say it’ll be a long time...
