I can narrow this review down to the brass tacks. Fresh and Delicious. That's what I took away from here, besides a full stomach. Co-workers and I discovered Top Mongolian years ago and I have to say it's the best Mongolian BBQ in the Greenbrier area.
The restaurant is located in a small 'L' shaped strip shopping center on Kempsville Rd and Volvo Parkway. It's across from a larger shopping center with a Harris Teeter, formerly a Farm Fresh, and can be easy to miss if you're not looking for it as there's a 7-11 on the same corner blocking the view of the businesses behind it.
Upon entering you are immediately seated and can then get up and start choosing your selections. From the get go you'll see the freshness of their food selection and their selection is also quite a bit larger than their closest competitor Warriors Grill. There were plenty of veggies and meats to choose from, including some seafood items.
What's all this going to cost you? Practically nothing. A single trip up is around $6 and the unlimited selection is about $8. You can't beat those prices. If you like Mongolian BBQ this is definitely a place to put on your short list....
Read moreThis unassuming, quiet place has a lot to offer. I ordered hot tea and the server brought it with a mug that said "best mom ever" (I had a child with me) which was thoughtful. They have the traditional selections of meat: beef, chicken, pork, lamb, crab. Of course they have the standard noodles, rice, and vegetables. They have oyster sauce, garlic sauce, spicy red pepper sauce, mongolian sauce, lemon water, sugar water, sesame sauce and ginger sauce. Their sesame bread is an amazing standout recipe. It's the size and shape of baguette but when you bite into it, it's soft and flaky like a croissant. Their desserts include puff pastry, watermelon by the slice, cake that tastes like tiramisu and cake topped with toasted coconut. They have a cooler up front with alcoholic beverages. The only things I'd change: I wish they offered shrimp along with the crab and oyster sauce. I wish they had jasmine tea instead of just green tea. And I wish they offered Coke products...
Read moreMy wife, our 2 sons, and I went to this restaurant yesterday. Been here many times and never had a problem. Yesterday changed that! This guy cooking was in such a rush to sit back down and watch his tablet, that our dishes were under cooked! The shrimp was still cold! I had him finish cooking the dishes.... wrong move! Should've left right then! He never apologized or anything! Then when we go to leave they charged us for our 1 year old who had a few oranges and some ice cream! $10 for a baby eating barely anything?! Ridiculous! My wife ends up getting sick on the way home and even still to this morning! We all have been dedicating non stop! When we tried to call, the woman acted like she didn't speak English, but when we were disputing the bill she spoke English just fine! Do not support these ridiculous,...
