Michael's Deli — Restaurant in Cheshire

APRIL, 2019 - The 1 star is for the fresh lettuce, onion and cucumber and for the owners response to my complaint. The loss of the remaining 3 starts are for the Buffalo Chicken that accompanied the salad and the cashier. The buffalo chicken was absolutely disgusting. In fact, it was hard. Definitely microwaved. I returned the meal immediately and the owner was very very accommodating. He returned my money, plus gave me a small container of macaroni salad because I could not wait for another salad. Truth be told, I was just plain turned off to the Buffalo Chicken (which they source out and do not make themselves.) The cashier was a little abrupt and impatient when taking my order and no pleasant greeting or thank you when I arrived to pay for and pick up my meal. I am new to the Cheshire area and will be here for the remainder of my career (20 years). I will not be going back to Michael's Deli ever again. The deli that gets my business will have my loyalty.

JULY 2019 - I said I would never go here again but my boss just asked me to pick up his sandwich there. I told him he shouldn't have ordered from here but it was too late. I had no choice but to go in there and pick up his sandwich. I told myself, "Maybe I just had a bad experience last time." Well! When I arrived, the miserable, snippy, rude cashier (ah! i remember her) seemed to be too busy to help me and she was very annoyed when she looked up at me. She did not say may i help you, she stared at me. Anyway, I forgot to mention her in my first review, but she deserves one, so here goes. I cannot attest to the food because my boss ate it. But who is this cashier? She must be a family member because she is still employed. Rude, snotty, I felt like I was interrupting her. Ugh, this place. ...

This was an experience! We ordered two sandwiches, a chicken salad sandwich and a corned beef Reuben. The Reuben was by far and away the best Reuben I have ever had. It struck the perfect balance of being moist without making the bread soggy. The quality of the food is so detailed that the bread selection is of excellent quality and they toast so perfectly. Their sandwiches are not premade waiting around for someone to pick it up, no they are freshly made to order. The staff who take orders are so nice and friendly they truly care about getting their customers' orders quickly and accurately. The price is just a tad higher than fast food but it is of a far better quality. This food is beyond delicious, it is scrumptious, delicate and fresh. I do not live in Cheshire but when in the area I will stop in for one of their sandwiches and I am looking forward to trying their sides and the milkshakes...

Will not be going here again. Went here a few weeks ago. Very disappointed. Waited 40+ minutes for a sandwhich and milkshake. The milkshake was literally a cup of milk and a scoop of ice cream. If I wanted to drink a glass of milk I could have done so at home. The sandwhich had no flavor really and I order the turkey with the stuffing cranberry and mayo... way too much stuffing. That's all I tasted and it was plopped on. They seem really understaffed and dont know how to handle a busy crowd and to be honest there weren't too many people in there so there shouldn't have been that long of a wait. And if she knew it was going to take that long she should have warned the customers they were backed up and it was going to be a while. I only get a half hour for lunch and I ended up being late because of this. They didnt even apologize for taking so long. Kind of had an attitude of just...
