Farmer In The Deli — Restaurant in Chester Township

I've never bought food at a place where removing items made it more expensive.

I asked for no pepperoni on an Italian sub(which aren't pre-made so we aren't dissecting a made sandwich or anything), and the vibe I got felt as if I was making a ridiculous request. The guy said "So, you want just salami and capicola" to which I said, "Yeah, everything as normal, just no pepperoni". Response was "Well, that makes it a custom sandwich, so its $12.99." Again, confirmed that I was getting the $10.99 sub just as listed on the menu, but instead of grabbing pepperoni slices and putting them on the dandwich, dont do that..."Yep, 12.99"

Too hungry and busy to fight it, dropped it and paid. It was very good, but for $13.00 it should be, right?

Also, not to pile on, but on checkout I asked if the sign on the blueberries said 1.99 or 2.99(handwritten and the numbers were written over each other), the lady grabbed a pint, rang it up and 4.49 was the price. Offered to put the blueberries back for her, she said its OK. Hopefully to cut another piece of neon construction paper and put the correct price on. Not a big deal at all... just saying had I tried to buy them for the price that was listed, probably would have gotten another awkward exchange, or charged more since they had to make a new sign lol.

Definitely felt the "you ain't from round here" energy. Small town delis usually have the same local yokels day in and day out...

My husband has visited this lovely establishment many times for a sandwich at lunchtime and has always boasted about how wonderful everything is. Today I had the pleasure of experiencing it for myself and WOW!!!! AMAZING!!!! They had corned beef as a special today and it was one of the best corned beef sandwiches I have ever had! Made in house and so tender, lean, perfect flavor! The sandwich was loaded with corned beef and made by the amazing staff! They were all so friendly! Wonderful place to have lunch they carry boars head premium meats and cheeses many different unusual options you wouldn't find in regular delis all of which you can have them make you any kind of sandwich hot or cold with them. They also offer made fresh pepperoni rolls, assorted olives, pasta salad, fresh by the slice pizza, pizza bagels, and huge dill pickles. I would recommend you stop in they have a seating area and the grocery side you can find many small batch local items all around great experience fast service...
