It pains me to write this because I love supporting local small businesses, but we just missed the mark this time.
Had a not so great experience today. When I walked in they were just finishing up my order. I watched the cook take a basket of fries directly out of the fryer and dump them into a paper bag which was placed on top of the rest of our order. Besides being under cooked, not at all seasoned, and soggy, the grease from the dripping brown paper bag got all over the rest of our meal. Not just a little... Puddles of grease. There were a lot of fries but unfortunately no one wanted to eat them and it was ultimately a waste of $6. Yep, $6 for an order of fries.
Had a cuban. I love a good cuban and have ordered it here before, but the bread has never been the same twice. Today it was 3 pieces of ham and 2 pickles between 2 pieces of burnt Texas toast. For $12, I expected more and have had better here.
The Wife had the Carol and said the potato tasted not so fresh like it had been sitting around a while and it was watery for some reason.
We also ordered a cheese steak... Oof. A six inch sandwich for $15. Steak was crunchy and dry and there was no sauce.
For my family of three to eat lunch it came to $40.00. That's pricey for the quality we experienced. It'll be a while before I give them another shot. I hope they raise their standards to justify the price someday because I'd love to see...
Read moreThis place is a mouthfull literally, you definitely get your money's worth when they say loaded hotdog not kidding it's loaded they don't spare the ingredients. The I believe owner threw in a cup of his jalapeño soup it's perfect blend of spice and flavor in a creamy cup i wish I would of bought more it's not overpowering by no means but does have enough to be tasteful. Also bought a loaded El engordio that sandwich is probably spelled wrong lol but was right to the top was gonna take a picture but didn't last long enough, also got the Philly chicken and it's delicious i did get a picture of that. Really good food friendly staff and glad I stopped great people work there who seem to care about the quality and food they are serving the public. Their pizza chain neighbor has nothing...
Read moreIts been about a year since I've been to TJ's as I now live on the west side of Cleveland about 50 miles away. But I was able to stop today to get some food for a gathering at my parents out east. The food is still absolutely amazing! They've even added more items to the menu. Nothing fast food chain about this place. It's homemade home cooked meals and a lot of it! Huge portions at a great price.
The owners mom works up front and is so helpful and polite. Very friendly people! I enjoy talking with her.
Chesterland has a gem of a place in TJ's To Go! Hopefully one day we'll get a TJ's out here on the west side of Cleveland. But until then it's well worth the drive to get there. Highly recommend...
