Mellow Mushroom Chesterfield — Restaurant in Chesterfield

I understand this location is new, but the experience we had was so disappointing considering how much we love MM. When we arrived, it was a little busy, but we were told it would be a 30 to 40 minute wait. It ended up taking an hour to get us seated. The last 20 minutes of that was them cleaning the table. Once we finally got seated, we ordered fairly quickly since we knew what we wanted. It took another hour for the food to arrive. My husband and I ended up having to ask my parents to have them box up our food, as it was getting so late we had to leave so he could get to work. My parents ended up having to get their food to go as well because it took even longer after we left to get it. If we realized that is what we would end up doing, we would have just done curbside or delivery from the jump. I used to LOVE Mellow Mushroom. I was in town and thought I’d get some. The service was terrible as was the pizza. So disappointed! Ordered the Maui Wowie. The jerk chicken topping was SO dry. The crust, pesto and cheese had no flavor. It was bizarre. Didn’t even eat 1/2 of it. … texted when I got there as the sign indicates in the parking lot (for pick ups). They texted back and said that the pick up time was later (by 6 min). I texted a thumbs up. I waited for about 15 min. They didn’t come out. So I went inside to see three wait staff chatting with each other down the hall. One of them came out and I gave my name. So she took the pizza out of the warmer and got the pretzel bites (the beer cheese just isn’t the same. Not good) . So obviously the food had been done for a few minutes and they didn’t bring it out —I was the only person waiting in the To Go area....

Was really looking forward to the new location opening up, never had a bad experience at the Sunset Hill location and unfortunately the experience I had on Weds the 22nd. was pretty terrible. Not really great service, kitchen seemed confused by orders. Took about an hour to get a pizza after appetizers came fairly quickly. Customers that were seated after us were getting their pizzas before us. Then the pizza was not what was ordered by the time the new one was up had to take it to go since it was getting late. The manager was very pleasant and made right with all the problems we had but they definitely have an issue in the kitchen that hopefully they can correct. Seemed to be a lot of unhappy patrons that night. I wish them well and fingers crossed it improves but would be hesitant to return there with such a poor...
