Talk about a place that does not know how to treat people fairly and and discriminates against how they will serve different people.
My wife and I had been traveling all day. We were looking for a good place to eat, really enjoy Thai food so decided to give this place a try.
We walked in at 8;47 and asked if we could still eat in. They told us no, they close at 9 but we could order to go. That is strange in and if itself, what restaurant would not allow someone to eat in when there were table that were occupied with people waiting for their food?
Anyway, we place our order to go at 8:55 or so at which time another couple walked in, asked the exact same question I did when we walked in and were told yes, they could eat in, it's not a problem. When I asked about this, they said it's because they know the owner. Ok great, they have now made the decision that they will serve past 9 PM and so eating in should not be an issue. Not the case, because we we unknown to them they would not let us eat in the restaurant even though 3 other tables were still occupied.
After ordering we were told it would be 20 minutes till our food was ready and yes it did take them all of that. Back to the knowers. They ordered their food about 5 minutes after we did, and they had the food served to them in plates, not to go boxes in less than 10 minutes. This means their order bumped our order in priority and we sat and waited while we watched them eat and get special attention.
At this point we should have just left but we were hungry and wanted to get back to the hotel and crash. Finally they brought our food at 9:15 we paid for it and walked out to eat in the truck. To our disbelief they provided no eating utensils. When I went back, the door was locked with people still sitting at tables and eating inside. They would not come to the door and refused to provide cutlery or chop sticks and expected us to eat with our fingers.
We had to go buy more food from the Mexican restaurant so that we could get utensils to eat with but by the time we got that food at 9:35 the Thai food had cooked down and tasted pretty disgusting and ultimately went to waste.
Oh yeah, and guess what, it was between 9:35 and 9:40 that the other couple and the knowers walked out of the Thai restaurant.
I will definitely be going back to my CC for a refund.
While this place has a number of good reviews, I would not recommend it. Especially true if you order take out, you will not be provided utensils if...
Read moreNot a kid friendly restaurant. My family and I visited and we are from out of town. We had a 2 year old baby with us and they do not provide booster seats or high chairs. This would of been nice to know beforehand. It would of saved us time to eat elsewhere. Instead they offered my 2 year old a regular chair and sitted us at a table in the middle of the room. When asked if we could move to a table in the back corner that way the baby would be trapped between the table and wall and away from other customers, we were told no. Our 2 year old has recently started to walk and she likes to wonder around. There was no way she was going to stay sitted on our laps let alone her own chair. While we were eating our food, the baby wondered around as expected. The food had just gotten to our table no more than 7mins before the owner came by and asked us to keep the baby on our lap for safety reasons. I get it. Workers are in and out with food. But all of this could of been prevented if they would of posted a sign outside their restaurant or on the website that they do not provide booster seats nor high chairs. Or provide it. However from the conversation I had with the owner/manager, I came to the conclusion he is not fond of children. The tone, his attitude, and his mentality drove us to pack our food and leave the restaurant. We will not return. Overall not a great experience. Very poor...
Read moreWe have been searching for good Thai food in the area, often walking away disappointed. Thai Sawadee did not disappoint. I had my go to when trying a new Thai restaurant- Pad Thai - while my wife had Thai vegetables. Her's was beautifully presented, the vegetables were cut with care, not just chopped up and thrown in the wok. The flavor was wonderful and the vegetables cooked to perfection.
I chose spice level four for my Pad Thai and it was just wonderfully hot. The peanut sauce was flavorful, not just hot, but it was thin. It was not served with lime which I always feel adds a wonderful citrus tartness to the dish.
We both had tofu in our dishes and both of us were disappointed in the flavor and quality. It tasted like it had been made days before and separately, thrown in at the last minute. Tofu can be wonderful at picking up the flavors of the dish and this didn't.
The staff was very friendly, although not very attentive. Our food was served quickly, but we did not see our wait staff until the end of the meal. No checking in on us during dining.
We will keep looking, but for now this will be our go to for very...
