It was packed, so people have to love the place. We went because of the reviews and are visiting from out of town. Someone mentioned it was magical for the kids, we didn’t experience anything like that. When we came in, a family of 5, it took several minutes for someone to even notice we were there, then they told us they only had 4 tops. I said we could make it work, and we did. They brought chips, salsa, & a bowl of refried beans out. Cool. But then we tasted the salsa and it was like marinara. Which is fine. But I wish l had breadsticks to dip in it vs chips. The kids loved the chips and beans and we had to ask for more a few times before we got them. I asked our server what was good, and he seemed very annoyed that I asked. He just rattled off some things.
My daughter - who loves tacos, rice, and beans, took 1 bite each of hers and said she didn’t want to eat it, and didn’t, which is very unlike her. She didn’t even want to bring it back to the hotel in case she got hungry, she said it all just tasted bad. My oldest son loves Mexican rice and beans and he said the rice didn’t taste good. My husband had the street tacos and said they were very dry and bland. I had the pollo blanco, and it was just ok. Nothing was something worth going back for. My 3 year old loved the rice and beans though.
Oh, we all ran out of our drinks before our dinner came, when he brought the food he said he would bring back drinks then we didn’t see him again until after we were done eating. We sat and sat and sat after we did finally get our drinks and waited for our bill. I think they forgot about us....
Read moreWent here on a Friday night and first impression was not the best. We entered the restaurant and were not greeted, there was no sign telling us what to do. We had to wander closer to the seating to be acknowledged and then was told to have a seat where we liked. We where then brought menus that were in fairly poor condition and were lunch and dinner menus, this created a feeling over information overload and we didn't even know where to start looking. We then where brought chips, salsa and a bean dip. Bean dip isn't for us so we didn't try it. The chips where fresh but something seemed off about them and we couldn't place it. The salsa was very chunky with a acidic taste to it. We decided to order chicken nachos and a side of cheesy rice. The rice and plate were cold and portion was moderately sized, but the coldness really took away from it. The chicken nachos... where chips with shredded mixed cheese that clumped to the chips and made it very unappealing and hard to eat. The chicken was decent not much flavor and covered in a red sauce so we got a full plate of nachos with shredded cheese and decent tasting chicken but I would not call what we received chicken nachos. The server was quiet and respected our time. Not too long of a wait nor crowding of our table. They did take our card to run it from the table and the check was hand written. We most likely will not return as the food was mostly just filling, environment was not very lively(lack of music) and menu prices felt pretty high when looking at the state of the restaurant...
