Burger King — Restaurant in Chesterton

Tonight we ordered 2 chicken sandwich value meals, 2 whoppers and 2 orders of onion rings. We waited 18 minutes at the window for our food. You could tell they were under staffed with only 2 employees visible. The gentleman taking our orders was also filling drinks, running the fryer and loading the bags with the orders. We had 7 cars behind us by the time we were handed our bags. We pulled forward to check our bags and 2 sandwich’s were missing, a fry and no drinks. How I didn’t notice that my husband wasn’t handed drinks is beyond me, but I missed it. So that was my fault and we should have said something at the window. But, none the less we had already pulled forward out of line. So we pull into the lot and my husband proceeds to go inside because the line was insane. Of course doors were locked for Covid. Frustrating. We’d have had to sit in that line easily another 20-30 minutes just to get it resolved. So we just chalked it up as a loss. Left and started eating as we drove. Worst part, the plain chicken sandwich wasn’t plain, and the whopper only cheese and ketchup had everything, and the onion rings were so incredibly old and hard we couldn’t even eat them. $28 down the drain. Beyond frustrated with tonight’s experience. Staff and train your employees better! Hot food should be served hot. Old food sitting out needs tossed. And for goodness sakes check an order twice before placing in bag and handing it to customer. He did apologize for our wait. But....after all that, only 2 sandwiches of 4 were correct. No drinks, a missing fry and onion rings that weren’t edible at all. I don’t leave reviews often but tonight’s experience felt like I needed to speak up...

I go into this location often. Everything was great at first other than being overpriced. This is the only Burger King I go to, so I can't say for sure, but if definitely seems like it would be higher than others. My combo (sandwich, large fry and drink) is regularly $13. Yesterday was the first time I ordered for multiple people. They forgot an entire person's order. They were in a hurry and adamant that they didn't want to go back in. So it's not a huge deal, but coupled with the fact that the store isn't very clean. It is an older store for the area. Also, not sure how long this has been going on but lately when I show up sometimes for breakfast and a couple of times after work, there is a sign on the door that says the lobby is closed because they're understaffed. Now, it's been going on for at least a month and a half which seems like less of a staffing problem and more of a management problem. I don't know why you would close the lobby of this location, because the lobby itself is never very busy. I used to close the lobby when I worked at a subway in high school and use that excuse when I didn't want to work very hard. It was very convenient going here because it was the first place I passed on the way to and from my house. Now, however, the cons outweigh the pros for sure and I just can't do it. The woman on the night I visited did not give me a receipt. She was a large women with unsanitary looking natural nails and a very long blonde braided pony tail. When I asked for a receipt she stated the machines were all broke. She became rude after stating she could hand write me a receipt. I was fine with that but why the attitude. When I asked her for a manger she gave her name ( Angel) while closing the drive thru window in my face. when she brought my food back I asked for her name and she said I don't have to give it and again closed the window in my face. I barely come to this burger king although it is in close proximity to where I live. This store in Chesterton Indiana is not clean and the staff are sometimes unprofessional. I stopped here because I had previously stopped at the one in Laporte (brand new) and was so impressed in every way one could be at a burger king. I craved a cheeseburger off the grill like I had in laporte Indiana. Now on this visit to Chesterton I did not get anything for myself, but my daughter stated the food was good on this...
