Phill's Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Chetek

I like the atmosphere at Phill's bar. I didn't care for the service or the food. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and fries.

The fries were ok, they were the kind of soggy home fries. They were hot and a little crisp at the end good enough to eat. Portions on FF were a little disappointing.

The bacon cheeseburger was nothing to write home about. Some kind of pressed frozen meat patty that didn't have the flavor of beef or even a hamburger really. Just a chunk of some kind of meat. Not really seasoned at all from what I could tell. There was a good amount of bacon, although not very good bacon. Then ware was the biggest let down of all. It was served on texas toast. No thanks.

I'll be back for a drink but there are better places to eat for a $10 burger and...

Easily one of the best place to eat in Chetek. The broasted chicken is super juicy and flavorful. Just make sure to leave a little bit extra time because it takes 20 minutes to cook. Their Friday night fish fry is also a local staple. In addition, they have a lot of classic bar food like burgers and wings. Their daily specials are usually really good. I love the taco Tuesday special and the wing Wednesday special. Don’t forget to get the garlic Parmesan fries as your side.

Randomly found ourselves in Chetek WI on a Friday night while coming to buy a camper. Picked Phil’s based on outside appearance on the street. Was pleasantly surprised as this is one of the best bars I’ve ever been to. Jeremy was one of the most active engaged bar owners I’ve ever seen at work and the staff was very attentive. Everything was clean and organized. The food was amazing. I had a burger on pretzel bun and it was great.
