Came across this place searching for a local spot to get some food after spending the day on the lake front for the air and water show. Not only was the food precisely what we were looking for at the moment but the staff which turns out is primarily all family members. Asked for several dishes and how they would recommend it being served and went with their personal recommendations. While joking around the gal at the register (daughter) pointed out dad running the oven behind the counter, brother on the grill and mom in the dining area cleaning tables. We were about to take a seat at a table when a couple groups came in and before order occupied the tables we were walking towards. No biggie, so we sat at a small counter near the front door with out complaining and then mom came back in and she had set up a 2 person table on the sidewalk for us and with all smiles they all said take the table instead of the counter. That was really special and really out of the blue! Made us feel at home being in a much larger city than where we're from. Thank you to the family that owns and operates Angry Octopus! Definitely a special place! Will return every time I...

This is a fantastic little gem! My wife and I were visiting Chicago when we stumbled upon Angry Octopus while exploring the Lincoln Park neighborhood. We decided to stop in for a bite and ordered burgers and fries—she chose the ground beef, and I went with the turkey burger. Both were absolutely delicious—perfectly cooked, topped just right, and served in portions that hit the sweet spot for a late lunch or early dinner.

The fries were a standout too—crispy boardwalk-style potato slices with just the right touch of salt. Simple, fresh, and very satisfying.

What really impressed us, though, was the atmosphere. While we were eating, the owner greeted a regular customer with special needs and showed her genuine kindness and respect. It was heartwarming to see such a welcoming, neighborly spirit in action—something you don’t always find, even in big cities.

We left full, happy, and already planning our next visit. If you’re in Chicago, do yourself a favor and check this place out—you won’t be...

I recently had the pleasure of ear at Angry Octopus , and I must say, it was an absolute culinary delight! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that set the stage for a fantastic dining experience.

The pizza at Angry Octopus is nothing short of amazing - each slice bursting with flavor and made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The meatballs were incredibly delicious and a definite highlight of the meal. I highly recommend trying the Hotfire Burger for those craving a spicy kick, as well as the broccoli bites for a tasty and unique appetizer.

Not only was the food top-notch, but the service was also exceptional. The staff was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu, which enhanced the overall dining experience.

If you're looking for a great taste that serves up delicious food in a welcoming environment, look no further than Angry Octopus. I can't wait to return and try more of their mouthwatering dishes. Highly...

Excellent price for the food. The pizza tastes like when you were young and yo daddy took you to a water park and after a long day of slippin and sliden, he takes you to the food court and you get a slice a pizza and your life is good. Crispy crust. Tastes good. Fries are fresh cut not super crispy. I didn't like them but you might. Similar to five guys fries. Coca-Cola is fountain and machine is of acceptable quality. Not too syrupy. Atmosphere is excellent. They got fun decor all over. Cool paintings and wacky tables. Love it so much. Bring the family. Highly recommended stopping by for a slice.
