Fat Shack — Restaurant in Chicago

I came to Fat Shack late at night with a friend, and we splurged! We ordered 6 wings with a side of cheese fries, The Classic Angus burger, a vanilla shake (which was thick and rich, just how it should be), a Philly cheesesteak, and funnel cake bites. Everything was delicious and indulgent, exactly what we were looking for in a late-night feast!

But what truly set this experience apart was the exceptional customer service provided by Jamie and Ligaya. These two were an absolute highlight of our visit! They went above and beyond to explain the menu thoroughly, offer spot-on recommendations, and made us feel genuinely welcomed. You could tell they enjoyed what they were doing, and it reflected in how they treated us.

When we chose to dine in, they even ensured that all our items were brought out at the same time, which was impressive given how much we ordered. It’s rare to find staff who deliver such seamless service with enthusiasm and care.

Fat Shack is already known for its amazing food, but Jamie and Ligaya made this visit unforgettable. We’ll definitely be back—and not just for the food, but for the fantastic atmosphere they helped create. Highly recommend! Jamie even stopped by our table to talk to us featuring great conversation.

Also, the music was nice too — well the entire ambiance! The historical Chicago sports theme was fitting! Additionally, the restaurant was really clean as well as the bathroom.

It was my very first time going to this restaurant after a friend recommended it. It is just a small restaurant with a convenient and accessible location. It is just basically a casual restaurant with something of a laidback vibe. The first thing I noticed was their staff, who were very polite and accommodating when I went inside. It was also not busy, so it was a really good spot. They are clean and it was so simple, but they also have a few decorations on their walls. Their menu does not have many options. There is a variety of options, which is also quite a lot, but not as much as other restaurants have. Since I was alone, I just got myself a burger and some mozzarella sticks. The restaurant was not busy, and there was a short wait for the food. It was literally a short wait because the food was served right after a few minutes. The burger looks nice, with a nice portion, and it is also not too greasy. It basically tastes good and is definitely reasonable for its price. Their prices are reasonable for every meal that they offer. I also like the mozzarella sticks, and I definitely like them better than the burger. The burger was really good though, and I would definitely order it again. I finished eating when I remembered that my friend also told me to get their wings because, according to her, they were delicious. Ok, so I drove 45 minutes and in heavy traffic because a Tiktoker had me feinding for one of their Fat Sandwiches. We had to pay for parking... we go inside and I knew it was gonna be bad the moment I noticed the staff was not helpful and were giving weird looks as they nonchalantly directed us to order on the kiosk. Here's the killer part.... they just opened a few hrs ago BUT THEY HAD NO SANDWICHES LEFT!!!! They said they didn't have any more bread, steak or chicken tenders for the sandwiches! The rest of the menu was slim pickings too. So we settled for burgers. Don't get me wrong, the burger was indescribably delicious. but still very much a let down when I came expecting a Cheesesteak with chicken fingers, jalapeño poppers, mozzarella sticks, french fries, onion rings & honey-jalapeño mustard on it. I will try them again but trust and believe I'm gonna call ahead to see if they have food before I take that...
