Waitress was super nice but super slow and they were not very busy and seemed adequately staffed. When she finally came to the table to take our orders after we looked at the menu for a painfully long time, only then did she tell us that they are out of ribs, shrimp, and fish. I had to quickly choose something else so I chose the club sandwich. It was huge so I took half of it home. When I went to eat that half later I saw that the bread was completely burned! Fries were good. Key lime pie saved the day. It’s out of this world. Everyone else at the table seemed to like their food. Someone ordered the steak and it looked delicious. I wish I would have ordered that but it was $27. I paid $53 for a burnt club sandwich and fries, a side of mac and cheese, 2 pieces of pie, and a water. Gratuity is already included in the bill which could explain why there was no urgency on her part. 2 people at our table ordered cake but she only brought one claiming she didn’t hear that they each wanted a piece (which she probably didn’t because it was super loud) and by the time she brought the other piece everyone else at the table was done eating. I didn’t order a drink but 2 people at the table did and said they were good and strong. We had a party of 9 but 6 of us showed up quite a while after the other 3 were seated. It took the waitress forever to bring the bill and then she brought it out as one bill. When we asked her to split it up she said ok and started to walk away. We had to stop her so we could tell her how we wanted it split up. There are SO many options in Chicago I was just expecting a little better. We traveled over 3 hours and thought this would be a fun place. Also it’s located right next to the parking garage which was great but they keep their door open so it was freezing so dress accordingly.

Rating: ★☆☆☆☆ Terrible Experience – Food Thrown Out Within Minutes I recently visited Margaritavile with my family during a trip from Detroit to Chicago, and I must say, our experience was highly disappointing. Firstly, the nachos we ordered were burnt. Although the staff replaced them, the second batch was hardly better. We only took a few bites before deciding to pack them to go. The loaded nachos cost a whopping $40, and the kids' meal was $10, but neither was worth the price. As we were leaving, my mother-in-law realized she had lost her phone. In the chaos of helping her find it, we temporarily put down our carry-out bag and a picture we had bought. We found her phone quickly, but when we returned to retrieve our items, we were shocked to discover that the staff had already thrown them away. This happened within just one minute of us stepping out the door! We were left without our food and picture, totaling $60, and my wife and daughter were hungry for the rest of the evening because their meals were gone. The staff’s lack of consideration and quick disposal of our belongings is unacceptable. Overall, our visit to Margaritaville was a complete letdown. Poor food quality, wasteful practices, and unhelpful staff made this an experience we won't forget, for all the wrong reasons. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

On a hum bug we stopped to eat here as we were pressed for time. It took the host a minute to come to the podium, as we had inquired with another worker that we seen passing by. We were seated and our waitress came and took our drink order. Once she came back, she begun to take our food order needless to say what I wanted which was the coconut shrimp they were out of, instead of her started off with that I took a few more minutes to look over the minute. My husband ordered the jambalaya and I had the egg rolls, fries, and Ceasars salad. When the food came the jambalaya had no shrimp in it, we mentioned it to her and she informed the kitchen. We heard an employee from the kitchen yell "let me get a shrimp skewer". When our waitress brought it out she said "it was a mix up in the kitchen". Seriously, how do you have an item on your menu with a certain food that is advised in it and say it was a mix up. Clearly you could see from the bowl brought out there wasn't one shrimp in that jambalaya. The fries were good, the egg rolls were quite small to me for the price, and the salad dressing was salty. Overall the service was great but the food was just alright especially for $70 bucks. Sorry to say this eatery does not come recommended by me.

If you want the true feel of "Margaritaville," albeit a fictional place, the room with the sit-down bar is the place to be. From the painted ceiling to the little touches on the shelves and signage, this room gives the feel of the tropics. The bartender was wonderful. She made the best margarita on the rocks that I've had in quite some time. She was pleasant and jovial but kept respect for privacy. The food was surprisingly excellent, much better than the first time I ate here (pre-pandemic). Moist Mahi was perfectly seasoned and topped with a mango-cream sauce that made for a tasty set of three tacos accompanied by possibly the best rice and beans side I've had. The key lime pie to top off the meal was excellent! And, of course, the music and videos - all non-stop Jimmy Buffett and The Coral Reefer Band - add to the perfect trip to a favorite, fictional place. For real fans, the bar area is a must. For those who just want some good food, anywhere (including al fresco dining) in the Chicago tropical establishment will do.
