This is my new favorite go-to place for Chinese takeout. There is a place up the road from me that's closer but I wasn't as impressed with what they offered so I was looking for a new spot.
When I walked in, I was greeted by some extremely kind and welcoming employees who helped me at the counter immediately. I got the Chicken and Mixed Vegetables and some egg rolls which all came out to, I believe, around $10 (great price); I know for sure the C&V was about $7.50. They were super speedy and answered my questions very clearly. I sat down and their cooking broke the sound barrier, my food was out in minutes but I could taste the love and care in it. The vegetables: bell pepper, carrot, cabbage, baby corn, broccoli, and mushrooms, all had an amazing texture and you could taste them through the sauce - they tasted so fresh! The chicken was maybe a tad gummy but I barely noticed and it still filled its role masterfully. The egg rolls were nice and large and well-stuffed; they too had great flavor and crispiness but without being super greasy or overdone.
I really am in aw of this place, it is no wonder to me they have been recognized by the city since 2019 (I think I saw) for four consecutive years for their service, food, and atmosphere. All of these positive reviews I've seen on here for this place are spot on and I will eagerly be back soon to try more of the menu.
The Great Wall is...
Read moreTL:DR: Very clean place, friendly staff, very good main entrees. 5/5.
This place was a nice little surprise. Great Wall sits inside where Taco Bell used to be, and this means that the inside is pretty much a blast from the past of 80's Taco Bell's.
Interior: The inside was super clean, one of the cleanest places I've been in. Not sure if that's actually the case or if the fact that everything is white gives off the impression of it being clean. Our table was definitely clean, almost felt bad eating on such a clean table.
Staff: We came in during off hours and it was totally empty inside, that did not stop staff from being friendly and taking our orders with a smile. This is a mostly self serve eatery but our food was brought out to us despite this.
Food: The food was very good for the price. All together we had gotten the Sesame Chicken, Bourbon Chicken, and General Tso's Chicken. Out of the three the Bourbon chicken was my favorite. All three were very good however.
The only complaint I can think of is the fried rice. It was more of yellowish white rice with some veggies than fried rice. It lacked the flavors typical with fried rice. This was easily remedied with a bit of soy sauce on top so it can be forgiven...
Read moreBourbon Chicken 🤮This was undercooked and absolutely terrible. I am not one to ever complain and to think of doing a Google review is extreme. But I called up there and had a conversation with a young man who offered one singular replacement which was perfect out of my $40 meal. I then received a phone call back within minutes from a young lady arguing with me that there is nothing wrong with the food. It turned my stomach and made me ill. I explained to her that I did not want a refund of the entire meal everything was wonderful but this one . I explained that I come there several times a week and I am absolutely a regular and to lose the business of a very regular customer over one dish, a customer who has never complained before was crazy. I told her that we would not see Eye to eye on the issue and that was the end of the conversation. I will never ever go back to this place again because of how I was treated and because they served me undercooked chicken.
I will add though as bad as this food and experience was their Sesame chicken, sweet-and-sour chicken, and crab Ragoon...
