The staff are really rude for some reason. My daughter got a 25$ gift card for this location from her school for academics and I called in once to see about getting food and the person on the phone refused to honor it.
So… about a week later I drove down there and went inside. The person running the front counter refused to honor it at first and argued with me about whether it is good business practice to choose not to honor gift cards they had provided the school. The staff member walked back and forth talking to someone behind the counter, refused us twice and then caved. They first told me it was expired, to which I explained that it was illegal in CA for gift cards loaded with money to expire and she told me I was wrong.
I gamely googled the law for her and after showing her she was wrong, she snorted and said “oh I’m new” and shrugged it off.
They gave us 20$ worth of food after putting me through it to get it and tried to tell me it was the schools fault the entire time.
I never spoke to the mysterious voice of power in the back, just the rude little girl up front. Disappointing, to be honest. Small, local businesses refusing to honor gift cards they handed out for children is a first for me. I shouldn’t have had to argue with her about it. We won’t...
Read moreFood is good and I thought I was going to go here regularly (went twice this week.) Generally speaking the staff is unpleasant, but today I spent $25 on lunch, then realized I forgot to get a side of ranch, the cashier informed me the ranch would be $1.30. Now that is an exorbitant price for 2oz of ranch but whatever, I told her that was totally fine and present my phone to tap for pay, at which point she informs me that I have to make a transaction of $10+ in order to use a card. I didn’t have cash on me so it was either spend $10 or no ranch for my food. I get that card terminals come with fees- I would have been happy to pay that given the option, but I was not. I opted to leave without, and the cashier happily called for me to have a good day, I didn’t respond-it honestly seemed like she was happy to disappoint someone and rub it in their face, I hope whatever is going on in her life gets better. I ended up going down the street and buying ranch at Celestinos pizza where the staff were much friendlier and accommodating. I would definitely recommend celestinos. Fast Eddies...
