Absolutely the WORST SERVICE EVER. BAR NONE.I had the unfortunate displeasure of dealing with a totally incompetant cashier at the donut nook tonight. My 12 yrs old son wanted to stop and get donuts with his birthday money. So allowing him to go in and be "the big kid paying for his own stuff" I thought he would be ok as his father and I sat proudly watching from our car at the window. He ordered a cinnamon ROLL and the cashier told him she didnt have any and put a cinnamon twist in the bag instead. He specifically said "I dont think that's what he wants" and she again repeated that they didnt have any CBs so he felt like that was just the end of it. He then Ordered 3 chocolate bars. She gave him 2. After all was said and done he came out really upset and confused and told me what happened. So I sent him back in to tell her she messed up and he would like the right donut OR HIS MONEY BACK. She told him "I wont exchange it it refund you because you took it outside. You have to buy another one." Feeling that this was totally unacceptable because SHE is the one who picked it and put it in the bag even though he said it was the wrong one. I called. I told her it was the wrong one and she told me the same thing she told him. I told her that was very poor customer service and she went ballistic. Literally. She started screaming at me telling me that my child was scared of me? And that he came in terrified because he got the wrong donuts (she assumed it was for me apparently when it was for his brother) she tried to threaten me by telling me she thinks my family needs to be investigated?? WHAT THE ACTUAL HELL? Because she got an order wrong and was called out on it she actually told me I need CPS intervention... It blew my mind. She did this in front of other customers in the parking lot. I told her I would be calling the police to make a report for slander and false allegations. ( utter Shock talking) This was so unbelievable to me. I will take my money elsewhere we will never go there again. That girl needs to be fired at the very least. They way she treated my child and then myself was so abusive and disrespectful there are literally no words. I am stunned that they would allow her to continue to work there...
Read moreTwo stars max for this place. I gave it an honest chance and all I can say is that The Donut Nook is overrated. The donuts here are very fluffy and oily, borderline undercooked. One apple fritter will soak through the bag in an oily mess and fall apart from gravity. A quality fritter should have a pronounced crust and crunch and maintain its shape. There are multiple issues that I have noticed with this place. On the weekends, the line is out the door and most people are buying large numbers of donuts per order. The staff is running ragged and they cannot make the donuts fast enough. If you ask for a maple bar, you might get a chocolate bar because of the chaos. You would think this is a good sign but the reality is that this causes the quality of the product to suffer and the donuts coming out of this shop are not very good. They are oily, soft, and wet. As a long time donut lover, I cannot recommend the The Donut Nook...
Read moreThis is a Chico staple for early morning sweet eats! Not only do they still bring out the original favorites but they also have some of the more modern and imaginative seasonal doughnuts too. I have to say I haven’t found a better apple Fritter in town and can honestly say it beats most doughnut shops in all of Butte County. Bring cash unless you want to stop at the atm in the lobby but it’s a wise choice as it keeps the quick line flowing. They offer the essentials coffee milk smoothies and their prices are reasonable for the size and quality of the food. I get my kids each their own and an apple fritter for me and finish off my 10$ with some doughnut holes. Stop by and enjoy some with your...
