Sushi Burrito King — Restaurant in Chico

Okay so I have so many things to say about this place , I love their boba milk tea (mocha) it’s sooo yummy!!! I was a regular , and have never had any issues. The lines , as many have said are extremely long. But, it’s not enough or a valid reason to give a bad review. This is not McDonald’s or a fast food restaurant, they used to be dine in but since Covid came and restrictions they became drive thru, this is to show that this is suppose to be fresh food that is freshly cooked, so I kinda understood why it took so long. The people at the counter are always so nice 💜 it makes up for waiting in the long lines!

I tried ordering on doordash , and when the food arrived it was still hot , it tasted other same as usual. A few hours later I start feeling nauseous, sick, I had to go to the restroom, and horrible awful stomach pain. I’m 70% sure I have food poisoning, but it’s odd since I never gotten food poisoning before , but I’ve read a few reviews saying the kitchens dirty , or that they’ve gotten food poisoning / almost did. But also I was thinking maybe the dasher tampered with my food , I honestly hope not but I’ll probably give this one more try in a month or so and see if I get poisoning, since I’m a regular and this has never happened until I ordered on doordash. Idk what to think so I can update the review after I try it again. Also I never see myself ordering doordash again, too many people tamper...

I will admit the prices here are very affordable. But that shows in the fish that they serve. I did not get sick, which is what I was expecting, but it certainly wasn't sushi I would eat on a daily basis. It filled me up though!

I got a rainbow roll, and a spider roll. Two rolls that I would get a a "regular" sushi spot. Both had imitation crab, which I would not call sushi, But decided to get them anyways.

The rainbow roll definitely had the fish you would expect. But when the fish fell off the roll, it wasn't as flexible as normal fish would be. It was not tasty, but it definitely was a rainbow roll.

The spider roll was just alright. It was HUGE! The shrimp was really fried. Nothing like tempura. But hey the eel sauce got the job done.

I also got Thai tea with boba. The boba was good, but not great. The tea was good though.

All in all, I would spend the extra $2/3 to get sushi from Japanese Blossoms. As well as get boba from Bobatealicious. All I can say is "It got the job done. Not bad, but not great." If you want sushi, go somewhere else and you will enjoy your sushi more, even if it is...

Sushi King is one of those sushi places you drive by and you think to yourself... "Drive thru sushi... That can't be good or safe... Can it?"

That was the exact question that came through my mind when I first considered trying it. But, I was pleasantly surprised. You can't judge this restaurant by it's outward appearance. Their Dragon Roll is the best I've ever had. Their prices are more than fair for what you receive. The staff is always pleasant to deal with.

The only complaint I have is that the drive thru line goes right by their dumpster, which at a sushi place, is a horrid smelling object. You sit next to their awful smelly dumpster, then order your food right afterwards. I don't think that's an appetizing way to order food...

Aside from that, though, this place is great. Never takes very long, has been consistently good every time I've been through, and I have not ever felt sick or anything similar after...
