Giovanni's Pizza — Restaurant in Chicopee

My husband and I have had good food and great service in the past from here. I'm not sure what happened last night though, a Wednesday night. I ordered online as I have almost always done and they sent me a confirmation email that it would be delivered almost an hour after that. Okay, that's fine. I wait 15 minutes after the expected delivery time, 20 minutes after and I call them to check on things. The girl who answered the phone was very relaxed about it and said it would be another 5-10 minutes. No apology for the wait, no explanation of them being back up, nothing. After 40 minutes from the expected delivery time had gone by and my children had still not had their dinner and needed to be getting ready for bed, I call again to ask for my money back because it's been too long. She asks "Is it cold?" and I responded with "I don't know, I haven't received it yet" Then I got a bunch of excuses for why it still hasn't arrived and no pizza because she called the delivery guy back to the restaurant. I'm really disappointed because I really liked this place but it doesn't seem like they have a good plan for when they get busy and not great...

Last Chance: We've been faithful customers of this "restaurant" way before it changed hands in the 70s and 80s. WOW, have things changed. For the past several years we have ordered food from this establishment but in a nutshell without ALL the mistakes, we'll NEVER go back or NEVER recommend this place to anyone. The past 10 times we've ordered food and picked it up, they screwed up our order and we had to get dressed up again to go back for the right order. I once witnessed the same thing while I was awaiting my food and the customer was quite irate as he had a function and they screwed. NEVER did I EVER get an apology and NEVER are there any staff that have worked there for longer than 6 months (in my opinion). My spouse and I have called it QUITS for this place as they AGAIN screwed up our order (2 grinders - believe it) and when I called up angry about it, the person I spoke to said "Don't give me your attitude". Guess that's why no one wants to go there. Rude owners/rude staff and they won't have it any other way. Give yourself a break and go elsewhere because this place is headed for disaster. We usually order from here every weekend. We had been loyal customers for several years. Today we had an incident where we went to pick up our food and got there in the 25 minutes we were told the food would be ready. I paid for my food and waited for 15 minutes. I went up to the counter and asked if there was any idea when my food would be ready. The cashier grabs a bag off the counter that had been sitting there the WHOLE time I was waiting and hands it to me. I then said that the bag had been sitting there the whole time I was waiting and she looked at me like a deer in headlights and said "oh." I asked for my food to be remade. It wasn't remade, it was reheated. They even stuck the food in the styrofoam container in the microwave! My son actually burned his mouth when he bit into his grinder because the inside was so hot. If this is how they treat good customers, then I don't want to give them my business! We will find somewhere honest to go...
