Susan’s is challenging to write a review about because the descriptions of the service, the food, and the excellent environment are going to read as inflated. They aren’t. We have had a dozen lovely meals here- always with excellent service, great drinks, and delightful food. Last night, while inhaling the ribs and Japanese Sweet Potato, a polished older woman came up to the table and told me she got the ribs, too. Both of us looking at each other and smiling in recognition. Some version of that interaction has happened whenever we have been there. Everyone happy to be there. Tables making friends. Read moreSusan's is without a doubt the nicest, most inviting and tastiest restaurant I have been to in the New Buffalo/Sawyer area. The menu is unique providing the feel of a 5-Star Chicago restaurant palate while still having staples for everyone. My favorite thins on the menu are the Branzino, if are you looking for something on the lighter side, and the dry aged burger- which scrumptious experience is worth every penny. Read moreExcellent fine dining experience- a true gem, not to be missed! For starters, the food is spectacular- inventive and prepared with extraordinary attention to detail. The menu items have been chosen with care to maintain excellence rather than trying to offer too much. The ambience is unlike anything else in harbor country. Modern decor in an historic building with original decorative ceiling complemented by warm colors and fine architectural details. The tables are spaced for intimate dining experiences and the staff is attentive and thoughtful. The owner personally visited every table while we were there and rolled up her sleeves to host and bus tables too! Best restaurant in the area-do whatever you can...
