90 percent of the time it's B minus carryout at the western avenue bob evans. Which grading on the western ave food curve is a great rating! However 10 percent of the time a few items in a carry out bag at western ave bob evan's will be defective. And obliviously made with no care straight up gross food items. For example the spinach salads made with rancid spinach leaves. A poor presentation that will also make you sick. But whoever made the salad was trained to use bad produce. Another item not up to par was the cheesecurls. Over fried in rancid grease burnt and with no cheese inside. Fried bread thanks kids looks great not! Now in regards to this one worst carryout bag experience of all time, these mistakes were only two items of many with the remaining items being the ok acceptable b minus salty standard that we townies have all come to love and except from B-Evans. Another weird thing that is inconsistent and that i think stinks is the "put the steamed veggies in a plastic sandwhich baggie" routine? Anyways at the time it seemed like a hassle to go all the way back to the store to get replacements or refund. So i called the manager. After explaining the mistakes he one upped the customer service with not only a replacement but a promise of two future meals for free! i thought wow what a nice generous thing to do! And now thanks to that gesture i will now refrain from complaining to corporate. Well a few weeks later we ordered again and only got a refund for the bad food. So no free comp as promised by the manager a few weeks prior. The order taker was mean and dumb and had the clerk is a jerk syndrome and seemed to deem the managers power and respect as not existing. Why is this? Well we never got a straight answer. One things for sure he's a great manager in that he knew just what to say to defuse the bad situation via phone and all had a good evening, The problem is that the manager's promises are not worth anything. The classic "Bait and Switch". Looking back i should have just complained to corporate. That being said this restaurant is still the best place for elderly people to get carryout on the west side of chillicothe. Yeah this place beats out Burger King and Taco...
Read moreI ordered the Hot Family Feast for our family Christmas party. The pick up time was 11:30 am which was scheduled online one week prior to the date. When I arrived at approximately 11:15 am, I checked in with the take out desk and was told it would be just a few minutes. I sat down on a booth in the front lobby area and patiently waited until 12:00 pm, when I finally was tired of waiting. I watched three door dash orders get picked up, and saw the host seat multiple parties in house while I waited. When I was finally able to speak to someone, the person said, “oh your order is here and ready.” The two bags of food had been sitting there the entire time I waited. The host was an older woman that was more worried about flirting with the older regular male customers and completely forgot about my order or me actually being present in the restaurant. After I realized the now cold food was mine I asked for a refund so that I could go elsewhere to make last minute plans for our dinner. I was informed by the manager on duty that a refund would take days to process and I would be out the money until then. This location has had poor service in the past which had me visiting the other location in our town. That location also had poor service on multiple occasions so I thought I’d give this Western Avenue location another shot only to be completely disappointed again. I will not visit either location in Chillicothe, Ohio again. We ended up taking the cold food so that I didn’t show up empty handed but was only further frustrated when the food was...
Read moreBeen here many times over the years. Food was good, dining room was clean, staff were busy with their duties, some working tables others doing what I would call "out work", rolling silverware, filling sugars, ketchup, salt and pepper and the such. We were seated quickly, drink order and meal orders taken in a timely manner. All was good until a "regular" came in and began conversation with a member of wait staff. Something was said by her (waitress)about having to work with young ones who do nothing but smoke weed and drink beer. I felt this was inappropriate due to being loud enough for all customers to hear. I seen zero signs or smells inside or out to back up her statement. Makes the company look bad just by her making that statement in the dining room. Some things should be discussed in private, with store personnel abd management to get it resolved, not throw the entire restaurant under the bus in front of all patrons inside who are now left to decide if her statement holds any truth. Then decide if they should return. Maybe this attitude or willingness to discuss work issues with all patrons instead of management may be the reason they are complaining about not getting enough hours. Businesses can only pay what sales allow, can only schedule so many hours based on past history of last year's sakes, last week's...
