Chipotle Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Chillicothe

I have been to this location many times since it opened. I have not had a bad experience yet. Tonight, I showed up to pick up my ordered through the app, a single bowl. It wasn’t ready at the pickup time, it’ll be another 10-15 minutes. Okay, no problem.

I drive away and come back about 13 minutes later. I tell the employee my name again, she turns around and doesn’t say a word. I think “okay she’s probably grabbing it” nope, doesn’t come back for 10 minutes while people are lined in the drive thru, one guys parked sideways blocking people from leaving, but at least I got it.

“Thank you so much.” I say. Nothing. Crickets, the door closes and I just laugh, driving home. I arrive to my home. I’m laughing, I’m crying, I’m praying to everything I can that my food isn’t messed up….

That’s when I see it. I pull out the bowl and what do I see on the lid… it takes me a minute to read it, it’s written just as horribly as the customer service I received…. Finally I can understand it.

“Out of corn sorry” my world shattered in that instant. I was a heaping pile on my floor. Sobbing and crying and shaking. But then, I thought of something. This location always gives me this cute little fork and some napkins although I don’t request them. It’s the nicest little gift you could ever receive.

Somehow, I pick myself up. My hand shaking on the counter as I lift my body from the hardwood floor. I pull out the chips, they feel heavy. Good. Then I reach down hoping to god above that I’ll feel that sweet plastic stabbing my finger, giving me the little bit of feeling I could have at that moment….. there was nothing. It was at that moment I knew, the people working at this location tonight need remedial training or...

This is my third time giving this place a chance. I did a mobile order with extra white rice, black beans, chicken, extra sour cream, extra cheese, and extra red hot sauce. None of those portions were extra and the bowl wasn’t even filled to the fill line. Also, heads up, when I order extra hot sauce, I don’t want two tablespoons. I want like two scoops of that crap. I want it to make me sob in the bathroom later. I barely tasted it at all and it had essentially zero spice to it. I swing by Chillicothe a time or two a year to visit family, and let me just say, you guys shouldn’t be letting the Charleston WV location trump your quality and portions 💀 that’s actually despicable hahaha! We’re talking better chipotle in country bumpkin WV LOL. Come on guys....

4 workers standing at the counter, just holding it up, food scraps from one end to the other, except where the workers were leaning on their hands. 2 workers in the cook and prep area working hard. Piles of dirty pans on prep surface. Every dining table was filthy with food remnants. Floor had not been swept, food all over it in dining room and kitchen. 1 guy dining in, 2 cars in drive thru, I was there for carryout. Only one person in the back made the orders. 4 upfront needs to learn if you have time to lean. You have time to clean. I swear it looked Ike the 4 upfront were magnetized to that spot...
