Phra Nakhon Thai Bistro — Restaurant in Chino Hills

WARNING!!! DO NOT EAT HERE !!!

THEY WILL SNEAK IN THE HIGEST SUGGESTED TIP ON YOUT BILL WITHOUT DISCLOSING IT WITH CUSTOMERS FIRST......

First we walk in at 6pm and it was hot. We asked to turn on the AC server declined and then we asked if we can open the door and she declined that as well. We received our food first and 20 mins during our meal we still have not received our waters when asked server 3 times. After we received our waters, halfway through our dinner we still haven't received our 2 bobas and 2 sodas on top of not receiving the rest of our food which was the sea bass, white rice and Tom yum soup. We already finished our food, still waiting on the sea bass and white rice so we told the server to cancel the sea bass and white rice since we were already finished with the rest of our food and we were full. When asked for the check server was hesitant, we did not receive it until 30 mins after, during their 30 mins the server was answering every single phone call and packing food.

At first, we were being as patient as possible given the fact she was the only server at the moment. When we received our check we noticed she did not remove the white rice we cancelled since it wasnt given (personally I think she forgot about it), when we asked her to remove the rice she said she did not know how to remove the rice (which was odd to me because she clearly removed the sea bass) so she contacted her boss.

When her and her boss gave us the new check, we noticed there was an EXTRA $24 IN OUR BILL.

When we asked why is there an extra $24 on our bill the boss said there was a mandatory tip and SHE CHOSE THE HIGHEST SUGGESTED TIP and added to our bill???? We were going to tip regardless but I wanted to chose the amount I felt they deserved but adding the highest suggested without disclosing that to me ?? ...... On top of the worst service I ever received did not seem right...

The boss just seems very cheap since she didn't want to have the AC on, she refused to roll down the sun visors (the sun was literally on our faces on top of it being so hot) she tried to sneak the highest suggested tip on our bill (who knows what other customers she has done this too PLEASE BE AWARE) & she only had one person in the front..

in my opinion if she wasn't so cheap and hired more workers to help this place would have better customer service. Looks like a new company so hopefully this will be a learning tool for...

after receiving the worst type of service & not receiving our drinks & half of our food until the end of our meal, when asked for the check at first they tried to charge us for rice that we cancelled because it was never brought to us during our meal, the server said she did not know how to cancel the order for the rice so she needed to contact her boss (mind you she had just removed the sea bass off the check so removing the rice shouldn’t have been a problem) the owner gave us a new check that was higher than the original amount?? I was so confused so when I asked the owner she said the tip was mandatory, I’m all about tipping and I was going to tip the server anyways but for the owner to chose their own tip and the HIGHEST tip amount at that?? So after a few times of explaining myself to the owner as to why I should tip the amount I want to tip, the owner told us to “never come back”. Which was very weird to me because weren’t you guys the one trying to sneak in a tip on my bill without even telling me??……. On top of the horrible service we had because prior they didn’t want to turn their AC on, didn’t give us all of the food we ordered, and gave us our beverages towards the end of our meal…. And mind you we were the only ones in the restaurant until we asked for the check so it was not busy at all during the whole hour and a half we were there ……

The owner just seems very money hungry and doesn’t seem to care about customer service. I’m all about tipping but that’s if the service was up to par

I didn’t know the place until my friend told me but Phra Nakhon in Chino Hills is truly a hidden gem for those seeking authentic Thai cuisine.
