Wow omfg wow that's it all there is to it. Best "steak fries" Ive had in 30 years in San Diego. Drove up I had a reservation down the street to pick up a client. Came in for a bite I've been craving from this other fries for some time and I saw this place named asada. I figured I would find some good carne asada based off the name and location. In all fairness I did order carne asada fries and got steak fries. Common problem you run into here in California or in the states. However whatever dude these things were crispy soft tasty plentiful. These are the best fries I've ever had for that cut of fry at a taco shop for once it did not taste like a weekend Taco shop fryer. The fries around point the sauce guacamole cream all the goods even the salsa were fire. I got the mini carne asada fries once again I was deceived as they were not asada and far from mini. I was a able to put half away rolled over and pasted out. Mind you a full size man 400> lbs. I most definitely recommend you try these delicious steak fries. You'll have order them as carne asada fries but again whatever don't care if they're not they were delicious

This place was supreme years ago, been going here since the early 90s. Now, it’s too overpriced for what you get. The portion sizes are generous (enough to split into two meals for some), but for $12.99 you should get more carne asada in your torta than lettuce! Also, since when has it been standard to put chipotle on tortas? I’m glad I was told what was on them before I ordered so I could omit it. Total for 3 carne asada tortas, an adobada torta, a plain quesadilla, two 4 oz sides of rice and beans and a horchata was $68.97! At least they gave us a bag full of salsas, the green of which is the better choice. It’s getting more expensive to feed a crowd nowadays so I can’t recommend coming here anymore over the other excellent and cheaper Mexican spots in town.

Been here multiple times. Purchased asada tacos, asada burritos,California fries and burritos. Beef tacos combo(rice and beans). All have been great. But I went in this Sunday morning for some menudo. And Wowwwwww. Hands down best I’ve ever tasted. Straight out the bowl it’s seasoned so good you could eat it with nothing on it. Highly recommend. I think it was about 15$ for a 16oz container. About a serving for one maybe two people if you eat light. But I highly recommend it. A must try. As a Mexican that eats home food on the daily and struggle to find a good authentic Mexican shop, yeah this place has it down. Bowl looks a bit small but it’s pretty decent size. Could be a bit bigger. But it’s so I’ll let it pass ☺️

Been coming here for almost 2 years since I moved down the street . I normally come here after hours due to my work schedule and also one of the few taco shops open 24 hours in the area . This most recent time I went , there was a van blocking the drive through, but the open signs were still on and lights were still on around the restaurant . I go to the window just to ask if they were still open and this young dike with glasses at the register just came to the window with the most hostility ever just because I was there . I’ve never seen this worker there , usually the staff is nice and friendly but this girl just seemed to jump the gun and felt the need to be hostile just because I came to ask if they were open . I come here once or twice a week . The workers usually recognize me because I order the same thing every time . Not once have they ever been closed . There was no indication they were closed besides the van blocking the drive through . After this visit , I will no longer be giving this restaurant my business due to the wanna be man that doesn’t know how to talk to customers . I advise Asada’s management to maybe put her or him or whatever she identifies as on janitor duty because customer service is not a strong...

Mexicans are well known for their warmth and hospitality however these rule doesn't apply to the guys helping you behind the register at Asada. Ordered through the phone last weekend, called ahead like 10 mins to order our food, and even though the guy took my order when I arrived 15 mins later he didn't even bothered to put the order in the kitchen he waited until I got there and made sure I paid so he could have it prepared at the kitchen.

Now you may say well yeah make sense if I have my business and somebody orders me something through the phone how do I know they're going to pay? Simple: You just say the magic words "I'm sorry sir/mam we don't take orders through the phone just at the restaurant" etc etc...

Food is average to good as it comes to mexican cuisine (coming from a mexican) prices are above average that sometimes makes it feel like not your best choice to eat here.

Bottomline: If you can just stay away from Asada prices are not fair, food not that good, cashier staff unfriendly, the only guys I've seen here smile and say something nice are the cooks kudos to...
