ALDI — Local services in Chula Vista

I am appalled by the service I just received from Aldi's while going through the self checkout lane. I shop at Aldi's all the time, love the place and prices and overall, i don't typically have any issues. Some of you are probably wondering, "how do you get bad service at a self service line?" Let me tell you.

I enter the self service line with a handful of items. After scanning all my items i pulled up my bank app to ensure my card wasn't locked. While that was pulling up I was looking to see if there were any bags because sometimes they only have bags at the other registers and i would have to walk over and grab one. However, there were bags at that self checkout line so i grabbed a paper bag. My app finished pulling up and I verified everything was good to go and of course planned on scanning the bag to finish my purchase. Mind you I havent even hit payment yet because I still needed to scan my bag.

Elizabeth from the checkout line behind me is yelling something over and over again and i turn around, i guess she's talking to me. So I said, "excuse me?" And she yells again, "MAKE SURE YOU SCAN YOUR BAG IF YOU'RE NOT USING EBT! YOU NEED TO SCAN THE BAG."

So i told her I wasn't done and she said okay, im just letting you know.

Ma'm calm down. I am going to pay the .12cents for the bag. I can't even remember the last time I took my quarter back from the carts when I use them. I usually just give my cart to someone so they don't have to pay .25 cents for a cart.

Anyways, Im really big on customer service and that was just plain rude. Everyone in her busy line was just staring at me like I was doing something wrong and it was quite embarrassing. It's 6:30pm I didnt even grab my receipt because I was so embarrassed. I did ask her for her name as I walked out to write...

Extremely upset with the service I received tonight trying to pick up my Instacart order. Stuff came up with the kids so I was unable to pick it up at my scheduled time, and it ended up being 7:30 until I was able to make it to the store for pick up. The app said to go inside to pick up the order because no one was available to walk it out to me, so I did. When I got inside I spoke to one of the cashiers, and they started working to figure out how to get me my order while also managing the line. The 2 cashiers and the person stocking the shelves were all helpful and trying to do what they could. Pretty soon a 4th person yelled over that it’s after 7, no pick ups, and everyone just stopped trying to help me with no further follow up. I asked what’s going on with the order since I was left with no further explanation. The cashier said I don’t know but that was the manager. I asked to speak with him. When he came over to talk, he was visibly annoyed with me, kept his arms crossed the whole time, and his answers were short and unhelpful. When I showed him my app said nothing about not being able to pick up, he just shrugged. I try to be an understanding person, but he didn’t even bother trying to explain why no one could pause what they were doing and go to the back to get my order. There’s been times in the past that we have had to pick up in the store later in the evening like this and it was never an issue. I’ve never had such a terrible...

The Chula Vista ALDI location is a blessing without even knowing it. This little tucked away grocery store. In the KOHLS shopping center. Located off of east main street and the south bound 805 freeway. They have amazing prices! Delicious chocolate chip cookies for .85. As well as a dozen eggs for under 1.50! There sliced american cheese for sandwiches also under 1.50 is so GOOD. I wasn't sure how it was going to taste for being so cheap. I usually buy the name brand. Early on in the PANDEMIIC SHUT DOWN I had no choice but to buy this sloced american cheese i had never heard of before. And I have to tell you there were other items as well. The eggs,bread,cheese,condiments ,cereal,vehetables frozen and fresh, produce as well. All were GREAT!!! They also carry BEER and WINE. Not to mention a small organic section. The meat selection is also impressive from fresh to packaged. Baking products, fresh pies,pastries also. Tortillas, chorizo, didn't find any refried beans on this trip but i have before. So sometimes you might not find an item but its made up by anther find. Like .42 cent cans of tuna. Or .39 cent a pound of bananas. Overall ALDI...
