Alexanders On The Water — Restaurant in Cicero

We always enjoy stopping by for some ice cream but if you see a large line of people be prepared for about 6 young folks trying frantically to complete the mission without adult supervision. Just about everything that could go wrong did go wrong and the poor kids had no adult to get the chaos under control. They did their best, however. The ice cream was great even though our 2 cones were 10 or 15 minutes apart and only made after repeated requests for the second cone that we ordered. I don't fault the kids. We'll go back but the point of this is that if you see a number of folks standing on the porch just make sure that you have a lot of time and patience. The entire process for us to get to the ordering window, wait for them to open it back up (they closed it from orders when we got up to it because they were too far behind), place our order and finally get both of our cones was 30 minutes. We had a terrible experience at Alexanders last night. We ordered 3 wraps and ice cream. As I waited by the window for the order, 15 people were given their ice cream that ordered after us. I thought they were waiting for our wraps to give us a complete order. After 20 minutes of waiting I asked if we could please at least get our ice cream. They had no idea what order I was referring to. Finally she said the cook forgot about our order. I said can I please have the ice cream since my kids were starving. Then I was told they lost our order and the person was smiling while saying she lost the order. We stopped here for a quick fast bite after an afternoon of boating but the service was terrible and the staff very rude. You are better off going to an actual restaurant for better service. After 40 minutes we finally received our food. At that point I would have preferred a refund but apparently the people working are not allowed to process a refund despite how slow or incompetent they are in...

Best ice cream in Hamilton county! And it's got a gorgeous view being so close to the lake.

Update: Visited 5/5/18. We waited for an hour (literally an hour) for our ice cream and food. 3 families who ordered after us were served their food and ice cream and left before we got any of our food. Several other groups who ordered after us were given their ice cream before we were. When I asked the teenager working if any of our stuff was almost ready, she rolled her eyes and with a poor attitude told me they were trying to catch up. It's not catching up to serve people their food in order. When we received our room temperature food, we didn't get what we ordered. I had to remind her twice to get the rest of our order.
