Wife and I tried this place after Mass on a Saturday evening. It's across the street from the Boathouse near the bridge in Cicero. Parking is behind the restaurant as they have outdoor dining set up on a front patio, although there had been rain on the day we came so the patio wasn't being used. It's not the cleanest looking restaurant on the inside, but it's fine.
We were seated immediately upon entering into one of the many booths they have, promptly were asked for our drink order, followed by a basket of chips and salsa being brought to the table, and then placed our order when the server brought our drinks. All of this took place inside of probably 2 minutes. Although not every table was filled, there were a number of folks who were already there as well as entered when we did, so the service was not lacking.
The chips were sort of the standard chip for a restaurant like this, a decent crunch and not much flavor. The salsa was more on the runny side as opposed to the chunky that we prefer, but it did have a good flavor and just the right amount of spice to it for a little kick without being too much. Not that it was an issue for us, but they do indicate on their menu that the first 2 baskets and salsas are complimentary, but cost $1.99 for additional orders beyond that. In my opinion, that actually seems pretty reasonable all considered.
We decided to split an item listed as "new" on their menu, Seafood Fajita ($16.99). Like the rest of our experience, our meal arrived pretty soon after we order it. All of their fajita orders include a plate of refried beans, Mexican rice, lettuce, guac, pico and 3 corn or flour tortillas. Along with the usual peppers, onions, and tomatoes, our choice included scallops, shrimp, crab, and a piece of tilapia, and they didn't skimp on the quantity. I know ordering seafood can be dicey at places like this, but everything seemed to be legit and tasted pretty good. We were both filled and agreed that we would order it again.
Even though we did like what we got, their menu seems to have a decent bit of other offerings that I would be interested to try as well. Bottom line, it was a very efficient meal that we both enjoyed and was priced reasonably. When the weather is more dependable, I'm sure dining on the patio would be a nice experience for a view of the reservoir and bridge as well as the general car and pedestrian traffic along...
Read moreSecond time ive come to literally be harassed. We gave them another chance but will never do it again. Last time my food was strange. I was sick for 3 days. It was like they put glue in my food. This time we had a very bad day and we used to love their food. I could not decide so I just got water. The water was awful. Right out of the sewer taste. Lemon couldn't bite it. Manager asked if everything was ok and I was fine before I tasted the water. Didn't touch it again. I waited for the kids to finish. When we came out to the car there was an empty beer bottle that a staff member left under my tire. I gave it back to staff and thanked them for leaving it under my tire. The guy just smiled and said your welcome. So my suspicion is that someone knows me and obviously is not fond of me. This is no reason to act like children or even sinister. I should have had my last dish analyzed. DO NOT RETURN HERE. If you make a mistake of any kind they will retaliate. There are children working here that have not grown up and gotten past high school mentality. Will never return to this place. This place has gained some notoriety in Cicero so any squabble with any one can bring vengeance through staff. BE CAREFUL. Take it serious. Messing with your food or your vehicle to bring potential harm is serious business. Its not something to just wink at. If they hate me they will hate more of you. Treating any one this way is treating our community this way. Take heed. On top of that, staff was loud, yelling, and cleaning up before the place was closed. Like as too push people out. Manager needs to take assessment of his...
Read moreStrong alcoholic drinks. Very good food. Classy place for people who have money, in some ways. Gets you high. Love it every step of the way, very much above Arcadia. My one complaint is the wait staff are not always very cordial or conversational, and it comes across sometimes as very disrespectful and ungrateful. I went to eat there on October 14th, 2020, and I complimented one of my servers who was also the cashier. I complimented her on the food and on the drinks, and instead of getting, " Oh thank you, or oh I'm so glad you loved it, all I got was, yeah, would you like your receipt?" What people today need to realize is that word of mouth goes a long way, and it's not just about food and drinks, it's about service. You can have bad service and good food and you can have good food and bad service. You need to have good food AND good service! Learn that, and you will go a lot further than you have gone.. And by the way, their Alfredo's Pizza is one of the best Mexican dishes I have ever had. JUST LET MY FINAL EXPERIENCE BE A POSITIVE ONE AND NOT A...
