We were on vacation and this place was recommended to us by patrons at Fulton Yards Coffee & Spirits. Let me just say that I am so glad we tried it. We went on Father's Day but the wait was quite long. The next day when preparing to leave back to our home and wanted to grab something to eat on the way out. I went in and the young lady at the counter was incredibly patient with me. I have speech difficulties due to a stroke and was having a bit of trouble understanding the board as well. She smiled the entire time and was extremely helpful. I decided on the all beef hot dogs with bbq sauce, creamy coleslaw and pork crispies. After one bite, this lady was HOOKED. My husband was very impressed and it was just a hot dog y'all!! The macaroni and cheese was delicious! I cannot wait to return so we can sit down in their cozy outside seating to enjoy a family meal and some drinks. I love that it is also kid friendly. Two of my boys are Autistic and they do not do well in a seated indoor place for very long, so the option of being outside is a HUGE plus for us. Definitely give this...
Read moreThe absolute best BBQ in the city. I love the pulled pork sandwiches with fresh homemade coleslaw, with a side of jalapeno cheese grits that can't be beat. They also have really good fried mashed potatoes, which sounds weird but trust me on this one, they're delicious! You can also get mac and cheese, baked beans, retro pops. They have some seating indoors, but my friends and I really enjoy sitting outside underneath the awnings on the picnic tables. Play retro vinyl while you're there, and they actually have two outdoor restrooms. I also love the fact that they recycle there. It's quite a popular Hangout, and even will behaved leashed dogs are welcome outside. You'll see a lot of people hanging out and even playing cards. It's a great place to be, as well as a great place to eat. There is parking off the alley behind the building and on the side streets around Eli's. It's easy to miss, so make sure to look for the sign outside with the silhouette of the pig, as well as a big clawfoot bathtub full of flowers. You...
Read moreWould have never found this place without the recommendation. Local feel. Even had a banjo duo play when we were there on a Wednesday evening. One draw that makes them different is they spin albums. That was pretty cool. They have a tent on the side of the restaurant with picnic tables, so I'm guessing it gets rather busy at times. Atmosphere got 4 stars due to the state of their stools. Don't wear anything that you don't want to snag on the seat. Bad shape. Pulled pork is pretty good. Nice glaze. BBQ sauce is one dimensional, but it was delicious. I prefer spicy over sweet. Didn't care for the jalapeño cornbread, but I'd recommend the jalapeño cheese grits. Nailed it. The slaw is unique enough that I would definitely recommend. Nailed it, too. Probably wouldn't go out of my way to seek it out, but if you're in the area and want a tasty sandwich, definitely grab some...
