Wittich's Candy Shop — Restaurant in Circleville

I have lived in Circleville my entire life and heard so many great things about this candy shop. So I finally decided to visit there and was so disappointed. I could tell that the items used to make the candy work either cheap products or products that were close to expiration or who knows maybe something else was wrong but I do know that the peanut butter fudge I bought I threw away after tasting it one time it was absolutely horrible. The chocolate fudge was okay however it had a really bad waxy aftertaste. The only thing that was good was the buckeyes I was so very disappointed I hope that they get it together. They have a lot of good reviews and I don't understand how my experience was so bad...

I would've much rather had my fudge placed in a box versus just tossed in a bag. I could barely hear the young lady that waited on me. They seemed unorganized as far as ringing people up etc. I thought my chocolate covered jellies were good but after eating a few more, they are very stale with the sugar crystallizing a fine layer between the actual jellies and the chocolate. They're gross and hard to bite into. So I'll have to throw those away. The maple fudge is very good and fresh. But the peanut butter fudge is, unfortunately quite dry. I love the fact they've been there so many years and are family owned. I just think they maybe weren't quite ready for the rush of traffic that the pumpkin...

This is the cutest shop and far and away, the best candies, bar none! The owner introduced herself to myself and my mother and she made us our caramel soda and shark week sundae! Mom and I enjoyed ourselves immensely and will soon return for the smiles from the the ladies behind the counter as well as the finest chocolates I've ever had in my lifetime!
