I recently had the pleasure of dining at Benji's Woodfire Pizza in Citrus Heights, and let me tell you, it was an experience that left my taste buds dancing! From the moment I walked in, the friendly and upbeat vibe set the stage for a fantastic evening.
First and foremost, I have to give a shoutout to the incredible manager, Andrey, who ensured that every aspect of our dining experience was top-notch. His attention to detail and commitment to customer satisfaction truly made a difference. And let's not forget about Rubik, our fantastic waiter, whose friendly demeanor and efficient service added to the overall enjoyment of our meal.
Now, let's talk about the star of the show—the woodfire pizza. Oh, my goodness! I can confidently say that this is the best woodfire pizza I have ever had. The crust is a work of art, made fresh in the store, and it's unlike anything I've tasted before. It's soft, fluffy, and reminiscent of an Indian paratha, which adds a unique twist to the traditional pizza experience.
The wood fire imparts a slightly burnt taste that elevates the flavor profile to new heights. I opted for the garden veggie on white sauce, and every bite was a revelation. The white sauce, rich, creamy, and utterly delicious, paired perfectly with the fresh and juicy veggie toppings. The tomatoes, in particular, were a standout, bursting with flavor.
What truly sets Benji's apart is the unmistakable homecooked feel in every element of their pizza. It's evident that the ingredients are carefully selected and prepared with love, creating an unforgettable culinary experience.
I wholeheartedly recommend Benji's Woodfire Pizza to everyone seeking not just a meal, but a journey into pizza perfection. Whether you're a local or just passing through, make sure to stop by Benji's for a slice of paradise and have the best time of your life. Cheers to Andrey, Rubik, and the entire team for creating such a delightful haven for pizza...
Read moreBeen wanting to try this new pizza joint and finally got to Sat night and it did not disappoint. We were happy to try the Hand-stretched Authentic Neapolitan pizza plus some other yummy appetizers they offered...
The pizza is made in two sizes only- 13" & 24". Cooked in a grand oven that is heated directly with wood fire. The result was a thick soft crust on the outside and thin crust on the inside.
I had the Veggie with additional ham, my husband had the Peperoni and our friends had the Hawaii. All of us enjoyed our pizza choices & thought it was delicious.
Each slice had a subtle smokiness crust, the perfect amount of cheese and tasty sauce... not to mention, the fresh ingredients which made for a very a deep flavored & satifying pizza!
Inside the restaurant is a small little parlor with a very simplistic atmosphere... I liked the huge woodfire grill where you can watch them grillin' up your pizza, nice, fresh & hot. The staff was really nice & friendly. (They do have outside seating which will be nice when it gets warmer in spring & summer).
JFYI, there is no beer on tap, no alcohol... just soda, iced tea, & water type beverages. Also, no ice... just cans & bottles. (I'd recommend cups & ice for colder beverages, but that's just my opinion).
Another tip... get there early for better seating because lot's of other people like the pizza too and it does get packed inside!
With all that being said, we will definitely be back. We were happy with our dinner and had a very nice night out there and look forward to the next...
Read moreI can't say enough good things about Benji’s Woodfired Pizza in Citrus Heights!
After a bit of a pizza hunt for my nephew’s birthday, we stumbled upon this hidden gem, and we are all so glad we did!!!
The place has such a warm, welcoming vibe from the moment you walk in.
It's clean, smells absolutely amazing, and the staff is super friendly.
We were a bit nervous because we had a big group, and the table by the door wasn’t quite big enough. But no worries – the staff quickly pulled over another table and set it up for us, even though they were busy!
The pizzas came out super fast, and let me tell you, they were loaded with fresh toppings – none of that skimpy stuff here.
The crust? Let me tell you, it was perfect – soft and crisp at the same time, just the right texture.
We got the Shroomin pizza, which was hands down the best pizza we’ve ever had, and the kids loved the Hawaiian and pepperoni.
We honestly thought we ordered too much, but it was so good that we almost finished everything!
They also have a beautiful outdoor patio with a stunning mural on the side of the building, and the rotating pizza oven is such a cool sight.
If you're in the Sacramento or Citrus Heights area, do yourself a favor and check this place out....
