If you are looking for an authentic taste of Mexico in the heart of Sacramento, look no further than Mexican Burrito California. This cozy little gem has quickly become my go-to spot for mouthwatering Mexican delicacies, and it never fails to impress.
The moment you step inside, you are welcomed with warm smiles and a vibrant atmosphere that sets the perfect tone for your dining experience. The restaurant is clean, well-maintained, and exudes a homely charm.
Now, let's get to the main star of the show: the food! Mexican Burrito California serves up some of the best, most flavorful Mexican cuisine I have ever had the pleasure of devouring. From their scrumptious burritos to their tantalizing tacos, every item on their extensive menu boasts fresh ingredients, perfect seasoning, and a true taste of Mexico.
My personal favorite is their signature California Burrito, stuffed with tender, marinated carne asada, crisp french fries, melted cheese, and topped with a delightful blend of guacamole and sour cream. It is an absolute explosion of flavors, and I find it difficult to resist ordering it every time I visit.
In addition to the heavenly burritos, their tacos are equally exceptional. Whether you go for the classic carnitas or the succulent grilled chicken, each bite is a little piece of culinary heaven. Accompanied by their homemade salsas, these tacos are a flavorsome journey that will transport your taste buds straight to Mexico.
The attentive and friendly staff at Mexican Burrito California deserve a special mention as well. They go above and beyond to ensure your dining experience is exceptional, catering to any special requests you may have and ensuring prompt service.
One aspect that impressed me was the reasonable prices. Despite the top-notch quality and generous portions, the prices are incredibly fair. You get fantastic value for your money, making this place all the more attractive.
Whether you are a Mexican food enthusiast like me or just looking to enjoy an excellent meal, Mexican Burrito California is the place to be. The combination of authentic flavors, friendly staff, and charming ambiance make it an absolute must-visit in Sacramento.

Read moreI recently visited California Burrito in North Highlands and my experience was nothing short of appalling. I inquired about a food item on their menu, only to be told that it cost more than what was advertised. When I asked for clarification on what came with the meal—since the menu clearly stated it included sides—the person taking my order just stopped responding. I was genuinely confused and simply trying to understand why the pricing didn’t match and why the menu wasn’t updated. Instead of offering any explanation or even basic courtesy, the staff chose to completely ignore me.
This blatant disregard for customers is beyond rude. To make matters worse, as I left—frustrated and bewildered—the staff inside waved at me as I drove off. It felt like a slap in the face, like they were mocking me for daring to ask questions about their misleading prices.
As a person of color who actively tries to support local communities and businesses owned by people of color, this experience was a harsh reminder of the gaps we still face in how we treat one another. It was disheartening and, frankly, unacceptable.
If you want good food and to be treated with basic dignity and respect, I highly recommend going to Alberto’s across the street. They are transparent, kind, and don’t try to cheat you out of your money. Supporting community businesses shouldn’t mean accepting poor treatment, and Alberto’s is proof that you don’t have to.
California Burrito, do better. Wrote this on...
Read moreCalifornia Burrito has an amazing menu. They have pretty much anything you could want from a Mexican restaurant. The service is friendly and fast. The drive thru window never backed up, but was never empty. I had the veggie burrito, super (includes guacamole and sour cream +). Our party also had the biria (available every day, as is the menudo) and a Chilli Rellenos plater(with rice and beans). Everyone left full and happy. The one star missing is the curse of every food joint that tries to do everything. Everything is really good, but nothing is great. Granted we have barely dipped a toe onto the menu, but I've seen this so many times. They do a very good job of having a bit of everything, but nothing stands our as somethimg I would tell my friends, "Oh my god, you have to go here and try this." Nothing is a disappointment. You would not regret ordering anything as far as I can tell. But you probably won't be back the next day to have it again. It might take a few years, but I'm betting we will go back and try pretty much everything on that menu. ...
