It was quite disappointing. Most people who ate there seemed to be theee for the salad bar, at first I was wondering why but when our food was brought to us it all became clear. First, they do not have a menu that they bring to tables like normal restaurants do, you can order by looking at the menu on the wall by the entrance (where it says “please wait to be seated” but no one comes to escort you to a table) or by looking at the small menu at the To-Go stand, where apparently everyone has their orders taken. After you order and pay for your order you go and sit at a table of your choice to which after about 15 minutes a random waiter will come and look at your receipt to see what to bring you. When the food is finally brought, it turn out to be not quite as advertised (or ordered for that matter). My steak was tiny and half of it was fat, so technically I got half a six ounce steak, half of it burnt and half medium though I ordered well done. My garlic-Parmesan shrimp was as bland as they come, didn’t taste garlic or Parmesan but did taste that distinct fish taste that you get when seafood is not cooked properly. The only thing I liked were the 2 tablespoons of cilantro-lime rice that I had as a side. My man’s lobster was tiny and pretty bland as well, thankfully the side sauce kind of helped. His side was a baked potato, which is advertised as a nice loaded potato with bacon, green onion and sour cream but in reality was just a big potato with some sour cream and butter and nothing else. We both left still hungry but not wanting to order more of bad-tasting food. Needless to say, we have previously eaten at restaurants with much better service and much better food (around the same price, too) and are not coming back to Sizzler ever again. P.S. They had replied to my review advising me to email them. So I did, and no...
Read moreIt's been years since I've been to a Sizzler. The one in the town I live closed long ago and then covid-19. My daughter opened a salon in March and drives by the one on Madison to get to her salon. So on my way to my appointment I took her to lunch. The salad bar, I haven't eaten at a salad bar in forever. I was trying to decide how I felt about this but I'm eating with the seniors and they are all very respectful of this situation. I even commented on the fact that we're all eating from a salad bar again and I'm amazed, didn't think it would happen. A few people agreed but were happy to be doing it. The food was fresh, salad greens were crisp and the choices plentiful. I enjoyed the fact that the hot meat station was separate from the salad station and the desert station was enough choices although I didn't choose any. As for service, definitely short staffed. I felt sorry for our waitress! She was on a dead run. I'm not giving her 4 stars, I know that everyone is having difficulty staffing up but, I'm still saying management do better! I will go back.
The restaurant was clean, everyone was nice, we choose where we wanted to sit, but we did get there early. We arrived around 11:45 ish and by the time we left 1:15 ish the place was getting pretty full.
Parking is not that great. The lot fills up fast and there's only 2 or 3 handicap spaces so, be prepared for that. I haven't figured out how to navigate that yet. I got semi lucky, I am handicap and truly needed one that day but got a close enough spot that it worked.
I have a group of friends who meet regularly for birthday lunches, I'm going to recommend Sizzler for an option in the future. That should be fun.
Hopefully you have a good experience if you go. Every day is a new one so you take each one with a new approach, smile and be...
Read moreI have not been to Sizzler a lot but friends wanted to go so I did. To say it was a huge disappointment would be an understatement. Four of us ordered salad bar and one ordered a cheese burger. Cashier was a sweetheart, and the poor overworked server was lovely and doing her very best to wait on every single table. My friend said his burger was fine. There ends the good. The salad bar was largely gross. The spinach salad was a runny mess, disgusting only slightly less than hotdog water. The crab salad, oh wait, there wasn't any. We asked and were told it would be "right out", 30 minutes later it apparently was still crab walking its way there - not sure if it made it yet or not. Potato wedges never appeared and the two mini corn dogs decided they wanted to die alone together. The chicken wings were just a second from burnt offerings, and when we asked about them bringing out more and got the "right out" response we were like oh no you don't and we knew better than to wait. Clam chowder was okay, chicken noodle soup was hot enough to peel paint so skipped that. Broccoli salad was okay, The romaine in the Caesar was ok if you picked the brown leaves out and added some plain romaine to get the excess moisture off. The new Thai chicken was decent, actually had a little zing to it. The fruit section was a mix of fresh melon and canned everything else. Then there was the dessert section, have to love stale Oreos and the crisp edges of a boxed pound cake. But if you just got ice cream you could grab a couple banana slices from the salad bar and pretend it was a sundae of sorts. Clearly the quality of the food is marginal at best, the server again was lovely and trying hard, but I cannot say that this is anyplace I will try again unless there is an improvement in the...
