Sonic — Restaurant in Citrus Heights

Entering the parking lot: One word, terrible. Dodging fuel trucks, vehicles already lined up to get into Sonic drive thru, gas station patrons pulling in, people pulling out from the "convenience store". Wow, it was a nightmare to say the least and I did see some alarming issues with cars pulling out and other traffic concerns that involved customer safety to say the least!

Entering Sonic: First off, no counter to order, just a device on the wall, which we thought it was touch to order, but you just stood in front of it, pressed a red button for service. After a long 3-5 minutes, finally someone answered! This was the strangest setup we have ever seen and screamed "No customer service" to us. We did see at least 5 customers walk out that day as the wait for indoor service was way too long indeed.

Cleanliness: Every trashcan was full, floors were a mess, 7 tables were dirty and not wiped off and we did notice a unkempt employee sitting in the right hand corner just ignoring everyone and on his cellphone. Even when I said "Wow, this place is a mess" right near him, he didn't even look up. This was tragic.

Customer service: Very "Not new mindset". We were greeted with our semi-cold food by an employee which was below lackluster as far as culture that we expect from Sonic and just did not seem to know what was going on. Very embarrasing to see this as we all knew as a family this place will fail with the current business model at this location.

Food: Not as expected, cold, normal is the word for sure. Sonic is supposed to be this really "Wow" place, but it is actually super depressing and absent from anything I have ever seen from fast food.

In a nutshell: This place is a pure tragedy. Between the fight for parking and waiting in lines, pulling out of the parking lot(I will describe below, dangerous!), dodging cars, waiting for cars to get out of your way, it is not something you want to experience as this is a fight waiting to happen!

Pulling out of the parking lot: We took the back exit by the carwash exit. Wow, nasty, we wanted to go back to Antelope Road, but NOT, traffic and not enough room to turn around, so the latter is what we chose. Now pulling out of the back parking lot is tough as you cannot swing left and if you try, you have people speeding past you at 45+MPH to continue to Roseville and oncoming traffic going to Antelope Rd, so your only option is to take a right, which then we had to swing around and make a u-turn to go back to Antelope road, another hazard! This place is a mess and will utlimately need to change the configuration or fail.

My assessment: If corporate leadership does not make changes soon, THIS place WILL fail and someone is going to get hurt! As a land owner/stakeholder/business partner/Investment group, you seriously need to take heed and do something about this situation soon!

When I arrived I decided I wanted the authentic sonic drive in experience and parked in a stall I then proceeded to press the button but to my disappointment it took someone 15 MINUTES to take my order all I wanted to order was a MEDIUM mozzarella sticks and MEDIUM chili cheese tots and a MEDIUM dirty diet doctor pepper with strawberries. To my utter shock when I asked for a MEDIUM mozzarella stick the girl said they didn't offer medium despite showing on the menu they in fact do and I was a little disappointed so then I asked for my MEDIUM chili cheese tots and to another major disappointment I was slapped in the face to hearing we dont have medium only small and large like what do you mean so beyond my disappointment I order my drink and pay. I waited ANOTHER 15 minutes for my food which I understand is busy but yk "FAST" food. moving on when my order finally comes I notice my dirt diet doctor pepper with strawberries is in fact a regular sugar coke a cola like what if I had diabetes. And to further this disappointing experience when I asked for it to be fixed for the correct item I took a very excited sip to finally have my beverage on a very HOT day only to realize it was STILL a regular sugar coke a cola lacking carbonation and coconut syrup with all too much strawberries. And the food was cold and disappointing and my tots had fries for no apparent reason. overall a disappointing experience and I will NOT be coming here again and I will stick to the one on pleasant grove even if it's a...

I have tried giving this location multiple tries, but after the fourth visit I have to say I’ll never come back to this location again. My order has been messed up all four visits and required to wait in the drive through or go inside to have it corrected. The staff is super rude and disrespectful often back talking or arguing with you. For example, had a young lady argue with me in the drive through that I didn’t ask for a diet limeade instead of just admitting she misheard and correcting the drink with a replacement she wanted to argue for 5 minutes how it is my fault and that is not what I said keeping mind I have dietary restrictions that doesn’t allow me to drink sugary beverages so I always ask for diet version of any beverage. The wait times are behind anything I have ever experienced at a fast food pace a few times the wait being over an hour stuck in the drive through with no way to leave. My shortest wait time was over 20 minutes which in my opinion is too long for fast food.
