I have been going there 5 years or more and went on this past Friday night. We originally asked for a 6 person table and were waiting about 5 minutes and found out 2 people were not going to make it. We sat at 2 different high tops, 2 at each, since there was 4 of us. The owners son is now in charge and would not allow us to sit at the high tops. He said it is only for 2 people, which is what we had. He left and we NEVER got a server to take our order. We waited over 15 minutes and no one ever came after we asked a couple times after the owners son left. This place used to be something we looked forward to coming on Friday's. It isn't run the same as when the father ran it. We went to Ford's Garage and were seated immediately and ordered drinks as soon as we were seated. We are done with Cepa's and won't ever be going back there again. Customers go to enjoy themselves after a long day and for the new, owners son, to be so rude is not acceptable. Good luck with your business if you treat most customers like we...
Read moreI've been going to this restaurant for over 2 years now. I always order the Lomo dish, I've never had a problem before with ordering this dish a certain way by removing Fried egg, mushrooms and cilantro. Today the owner decided that I could not remove these items and I must order as is because it takes away from the dish. I was in shock with the horrible service and response I received from the owner he said "You can just pick out what you don't like" 1 decided to cancel my order. I will take my business and money elsewhere, this is very disappointing. As a paying customer, I should not have to explain to them why I ordered this way, the reasoning behind this. I explained "I'm allergic to Mushrooms and I refuse to waste food that I will not eat fried egg" Keep in mind the price does not change if you remove items from the dish. Not sure why this became a problem and why he thought it was acceptable to be disrespectful to a loyal customer. It's very upsetting to be treated this way,...
Read moreGiving this review after just having left the restaurant. If I could give ZERO stars, I would. The basic competence of a restaurant starts with its service and treatment of customers. We walked in and were seated at a table for four. After around 10 minutes during which we got comfortable and being served water in anticipation of ordering drinks, we were approached by the server who said we were seated “in error” and that we would have to give up our seats to another party. We were “offered” seats at the bar as if that was some great consolation the restaurant was giving. Really?!? How insulting. We opted to leave. We went to Michael’s Grill in Carrollwood instead and the Tampa Wine Room next door. Both places exceeded our expectations and we are sure are a step above Cepa. Will never step foot in Cepas again and I urge you to stay away as well if you’re hoping to be...
