My son and I both got burgers. The menu is not as extensive as it used to be. The burger I wanted is no longer on the menu. I settled for the bacon cheese burger and got Swiss cheese because they do not have cheddar slices ( and although many people like American cheese because it melts well, American cheese is a processed food, is not actually cheese, and is not very flavorful). I ordered the sweet potato fries which was a $2 upcharge. I was fine with the $2 upcharge, but the portion was 1/3 the portion of my son’s side of onion strings. I also asked for BBQ sauce which was another $.99 upcharge. My burger was good, but I was disappointed with the portion size of the fries given the upcharge and the upcharge for the sauce. Which is why I am giving a 3 rating instead of a 4. My son got the Buffalo Chicken Queso burger, which he enjoyed. We also got the blonde brownie skillet, which was extremely sweet and we had to work to get it out of the skillet. The skillet should be seasoned so that even though it is cooked in the skillet it should come out.
The location on Ehrlich is better than the location they had on Gunn Hwy. It is much brighter and...
Read moreWe were excited when Winners reopened on Ehrlich Road a couple of months ago. We went there several times and had great food and service until last night. A not so busy Monday evening. We were a party of four. Monday special is dirty fingers which my husband and I ordered. One of our friends ordered Quesadillas the other one ordered a rack of domestic baby back ribs with beans and corn fritters. The server although friendly did not seem to have her head in what she was doing. Forgetful. The dirty fingers came out cold, the quesadillas had very little cheese and meat in it and instead of domestic baby back ribs our friend was served Danish baby back ribs which had no meat on the bones for $19.99. There was a person in our party knowledgeable of meat and what was served was Danish ribs. When brought to the servers attention she really did not have a clue nor a solution. So if this is how Winners is going to offer Domestic Baby back ribs and replace with Danish baby backs and charge for domestic they should be ashamed of themselves. That’s like ordering a grouper sandwich and being served...
Read moreI really like this place. This was my second visit. Today, I tried the chips and guac appetizer and steak fajitas. The chips and guac was really good. The salsa that came with it was not very good, but there was plenty of delicious guac. The steak fajitas were delicious. The steak was tender and well seasoned. The fajitas were served with shredded cheese, salsa, sour cream, diced tomatoes, and lettuce. When I order this again, I'll skip the chips and guac and just get a side of guac for the fajitas. I'll look on the menu to see if they have rice or refried beans as a side that I can add to it. The service was great and I like the atmosphere here. The waitress brought me a drink refill without me having to ask and came to check if I needed anything several times. Today was Sunday and they had several football games to watch on TV. They had the Bucs game turned up loud enough so you could here it and still have a conversation. It did get loud whenever a team scored, but it is a sports bar. This has become a new favorite restaurant for me and I'm looking forward to...
