Hungry Howie's Pizza & Subs — Restaurant in Citrus Park

I’ve been ordering from this store quite a bit for years. They are not cheap but they made it the way we wanted. My last pizza from them was mid-2023 because it was crappy and we started buying elsewhere. Today, my daughter was reminiscing about her favorite Cheese and Tomato stuffed crust pizza which we’ve eaten here for years so, I tried it again. The lady who answered the phone was helpful and I paid almost $30.00 for one large pizza delivered. The price didn’t matter since we were ordering it the way we liked. When it arrived, it was dripping underneath and the pizza was smushed all toppings slid to one end of the pie. It was probably not level when being driven. I called to inform them and the young lady transferred me to the owner. I politely explained that I was a long time customer and what happened. He started getting aggressive over the phone, accused me of lying about the last time I ordered, blamed the bad pizza on me for having too much tomato on it, then said this pizza was too expensive for him to make so I couldn’t not get it like that again. I then told him I’d call another pizzeria since he was unwilling to do it again “My Way”. I believe that for almost $30.00 with just extra cheese and extra tomatoes, I’m seriously overpaying which I have always done. In conclusion, he told me he’d refund my money so I could get a pizza elsewhere.

The level of treatment that I experienced with the owner of this Hungry Howies was unbecoming of an owner. I was yelled at, treated aggressively, accused of lying, got a nasty pizza, was ripped off. I can’t imagine that anyone paying almost $30.00 to have a tomato and cheese pizza delivered would receive anything less that a piping hot and delicious pie.

Instead, he ruined our family’s Sunday afternoon.My kids are now sad, hungry, and I’m out nearly $30.00

My Husband place an order for 2 different types of Pizza’s. I wasn’t feeling good and he figured he order out so he we can both relax. He suggested Pizza. He almost went with 2 other pizza spots, but I asked if we could do HH. Since, I love the way they make their pizza and the types of flavors we can make the crust. My Husband said ok and we ended up ordering: 1 Large 2 Top Pizza $12.99 & 1 Med. 2 Top Pizza $8.99. The Total = $19.33. When we got home to eat, the Pizza crust was too salty. 😭 I called HH at this location we placed the order from and I spoke with Drew (Not sure if that’s how his name is spelled-Forgive Me!) but he suggested to bring back the pizza and they’ll remake it. I informed him that My Husband might not want to go all the way back but I would discuss it with him. Honestly, the Pizza was way to salty for me to eat & I didn’t want the money he spent on the Pizza to go to waste. So, I told My Husband I would go and pick it up. I called Drew and informed him, he said He will remake the 2 pizza’s and go lite on the seasoning for the crust. By the time I got to HH, My 2 Pizza’s were already made. I tried 1 of the slices when I got home and it was Spot on!! Super Grateful for Drew’s Kindness, Great Customer Service & for Him and his team for Remaking the Pizza before...

A pretty reliable pizza joint since I moved nearby. Delivery times are pretty accurate to what the provided estimate is after ordering, only delayed a few times. When I order for pickup the food is always ready by the time I arrive. The drivers are usually friendly as they give you the food, as are the staff inside the building.

Prices are reasonable as far as pizza places go, and the food is usually delicious, with the ability to customize your pizza including how well done it is and how full the topping are. Their Howie bread varieties are especially tasty. The one downside, I have noticed, is that for pickup as opposed to delivery the extra requests are hit n' miss. For delivery my sauce request is always fulfilled, but was not at least twice for pickup. Nothing that made me lodge a complaint, but still an inconvenience.
