Immersing myself in the luxurious ambiance of this fine dining establishment, I embarked on a culinary journey that surpassed all expectations. From the moment I perused the menu, I knew that I was in for a treat, and each dish that graced my table was a masterpiece in its own right.
The Capitol Burger, a true standout, showcased the culinary prowess of the restaurant with its succulent smoked onion mayonnaise, crisp lettuce, juicy tomato, and melty cheese atop a perfectly grilled patty. Paired with a side of golden, crispy fries, each bite of this burger was a symphony of flavors that danced on my palate, leaving me craving more.
Next, the Crispy Fried Chicken Sandwich elevated comfort food to new heights with its buttermilk-fried chicken nestled beneath a mound of zesty jalapeno coleslaw and drizzled with spicy ranch aioli, all sandwiched between a toasted brioche bun. The harmonious blend of textures and flavors, accompanied by a side of perfectly cooked fries, made this sandwich a true delight for the senses.
The Turkey Caesar BLT brought together the classic flavors of roasted turkey breast and applewood-smoked bacon with the crunch of romaine lettuce, the sharp tang of grated Parmesan, and a luscious roasted tomato jam and Caesar aioli, all nestled within a toasted ciabatta. Served alongside a generous portion of fries, this sandwich was a perfect fusion of gourmet sophistication and timeless comfort.
Delving into the Faroe Island Salmon, I was met with a culinary masterpiece laid elegantly on a bed of quinoa, chickpeas, kale, roasted tomato, and artichokes, topped with a flavorful fennel olive tapenade. The tender, flaky salmon paired beautifully with the vibrant medley of ingredients, creating a dish that was as visually stunning as it was delicious.
To conclude my culinary odyssey, I indulged in the decadent Baked Alaska dessert, a symphony of flavors and textures featuring luscious layers of cake and ice cream enrobed in a blanket of toasted meringue. The interplay of warm and cold, sweet and tart, made each spoonful a heavenly experience that left me with a lingering sense of delight.
In essence, Wellington’s captivated my senses and elevated my dining experience to new heights. From the bold flavors of the Capitol Burger to the artful presentation of the Faroe Island Salmon and the indulgent sweetness of the Baked Alaska, every dish resonated with impeccable quality and culinary finesse. For a dining experience that transcends mere sustenance and becomes a true celebration of gastronomic artistry, this establishment is a must-visit destination that promises to delight and dazzle with every...
Read moreI really wanted to like this restaurant, but I just could not get on board. Perhaps it was because it was daylight but the atmosphere was not intimate or romantic in the slightest. We were seated by the industrial like door and the sounds of other guests echoed through the place to where you could not hear any sort of music to set any sort of mood. It felt very exposed and harsh. The hostess was very inviting but once we sat down we didn’t get even a greeting from our server for a good 15 minutes to the point of searching for other places where we could try and escape. Unfortunately we stayed and tried to make the best of it. My husband enjoys a nice beer on tap but they only have bottled beer available and when she brought it she didn’t even pour it into the glass. (I’m not trying to be snobby but for the menu prices this would be an expected service). Additionally there was not complimentary bread that you’d expect from a place of this price range. My rose’ was tangy and not a good wine at all. I had to walk to the bar and the bartender was very pleasant and I switched to a Riesling which was a little better. For dinner I got the mushroom ravioli and it came out and had an odor that was not appealing at all. I gave it my best shot and ate it anyway deciding the odor was simply coming from the broth. But the dish was more like a bean soup than a cheese ravioli dish I was expecting (perhaps my fault for not reading the electronic menu more carefully). My husband got the salmon and he said it was “not bad”. All in all it was just not a great experience which was unfortunate. The two stars are for the bartender and the hostess. Everything else was...
Read moreServer should be working at McDonald’s not a supposed high end establishment. Not at all impressed with food. Waited 15 minutes for drinks. They apparently don’t have martini glasses when you order a martini my girlfriend had to go to the bar to get my second one our server was mia. She asked the bartender for a martini glass he stated we don’t have one. She saw one on a shelf he said ohh that’s a trophy glass. He then proceeded to make my drink in the regular martini glass. It was basically a dollar store martini glass not sure why they don’t have them or that’s considered a trophy glass 🤔
Cheese plate is a joke and over priced don’t order it you will be disappointed. We ordered steaks filet mignon, a strip, a duck, and the chicken. Finally entrees arrive after my friend asked where dinner was they finally came were cold and not cooked as ordered. Our girlfriends orders chicken and duck both cold over cooked dry. Amateur night! Our friends had inviteed us there who said they had a great experience a couple weeks before hand. We did not. I am quite sure they did. I’m not one to complain but it psst me off all the little things add up. I was ready to pay the bill for the four of us. My friend without me asking approached the manager who took off our girlfriends dinners. She should have wiped out the whole bill. No real apology other than we took it off. Absolute joke.
My opinion is the place probably is great at times and others not so much. Inconsistent seems to be there vibe. Hopefully you catch them on a good night. If not watch out!...
